I wonder how many of you realise the gift that you offer to fandoms spaces. I hope you know it 🫶

In a distracted world, where endless short reels dominate fandom spaces, I think there’s something quite beautiful about the stillness fanfic offers. It can grab someone’s full attention, transport them, make them think, make them feel.

There’s something so pure and giving about the intention too. So much fandom content today is about views, clicks, even monetisation. But fanfic is free stories, made with love, for community, by community. A bid, not for attention, but for connection with fellow fans,

Even if you haven’t gotten a single comment yet, and I know engagement is a struggle these days, don’t give up. Because one day, someday, someone will love and remember something that you wrote. It could stay with them for weeks, maybe even years. I still remember how some fanfic made me feel more than a decade later.

what is the origin of your blog name?

It's my name plus I think I liked the idea of a pun. It was 12 years ago, my reasoning is lost to the sands of time, and I've never felt the compulsion to change it.

what’s your “I will always order this” food?

Anything with cheese, probably? Especially warm/melty, like a baked brie, a cheesy pastry, or even a cheeseburger.

what's your current comfort show/movie/book?

Taskmaster. It has been for many years now.

what’s the last thing you hyperfixated on?

Still Bridgerton, and yes, it mystifies me to this day. Cos it's so incongruous to what I normally watch. I mean, yes, the hot men, cos I'm a very thirsty bitch, but really, it makes no sense why my brain latched onto it more than other media with arguably equally attractive men.

what’s an oddly specific thing that brings you joy?

Driving in Vermont in autumn. Especially down I-91 as it hugs the Connecticut River.

what's something you loved as a kid that you secretly love now

It has to be junk food snacks aimed at kids. Mum was quite militant about food growing up, so I still see some childhood biscuits and chocolate as a guilty pleasure - Curly Wurlys & Ice Party Rings come to mind.

what's your phone wallpaper right now?

A carousel of my cats. It changes every hour, which is a lovely surprise as it adds newly taken pics into the mix every so often. Right now:

are you a morning person, night owl, or something else entirely?

Night Owl. I don't know if I'll ever be a morning person, but I suppose ask again when I'm 80 lol.

lastly, if you work, what is your work profession? and do you like it?

I am a systems person. It's a good match for my skills, and I enjoy the problem-solving aspects, but I still wish I could make money writing lol.
