Parvati choked on her drink. She’d known Fay was bold, but to ask her that question in the presence of two other people Parvati had previously shagged, as well as Fay’s own current girlfriend... that was next-level ballsy, and Parvati had to admire her for it. If she was being honest, Fay probably was near the top of the list, if not at the top, but there was no way Parvati was going to look Sophie in the eyes and say that out loud. 

“Nah,” she laughed. “Alex Brodeur, this Beauxbatons kid --- he takes first place. Those French really know what they’re doing. Sorry, Dunbar. I hope your technique’s improved, for sweet Sophie’s sake.”

“ coming through. ” noah moved through the crowd of people without much care, a shot in each hand, and he laughed when some of the alcohol spilt over the rim of the glass and onto his hand. it didn’t matter — nothing matter4r right then. at least, nothing but having fun and just enjoying the damned night. he was doing his best to do just that. “ fay, ” he stopped by gryffindor, holding out the second shot to her. “ here’s a free shot — and not one to my face this time. ” he raised his up slightly, a wobbly toast supported by a wobbly smile and a very wobbly noah. “ here’s to fight club and to not being the actual worst. ”

She wasn’t entirely sure what had happened — her thoughts had become clouded and the world was spinning slightly and part of her wondered why people liked being drunk so much when it made everything seem so off. Another part was accepting it, going with it, thriving on the complete sense of relaxation that she – for what seemed like the first time in her life – was feeling.

And so when Fay Dunbar offered Morag a bodyshot, she had said yes before realising what was happening. “I’m horrible at these,” she said, apologising in advance, but grinning a little. She grabbed the tequila tighter, poured some into Fay’s navel and then didn’t stop.

“Oh no!” she exclaimed, continuing to pour, watching liquor slosh over the other’s body, hoping it’d stick horribly. “I can’t stop!” Eventually, she put the bottle back ( taking a quick sip of it first, pulling a face once the liquor was on her lips ), looking down at Fay. “Oops. I told you – I’m horrible at these.”

Neville and Ginny wasted little time in getting the gang back together, as it were. Not a full day back and they were already gathering under night, drawing wands, drumming up ideas for how to strike next. Michael lingered at the back of the room. He’d always be a fighter, he thought, but found himself reluctant to join the shouting. They’d only just gotten quidditch back. If the D.A. struck again, there’s no telling what they’d suffer in retribution. He remained quiet through drills and final exchanges, until it looked like he and Fay, of all people, were the last in the room.

“You don’t think they’ll strike this quickly, right?” Michael tried to keep his voice neutral, light, unassuming, and his expression devoid of anything but the usual abject humour. He wasn’t quite sure he succeeded. Nevertheless, he continued. “I mean,” he bent down to pick up a few scattered parchments and right and overturned cushion, “we just got quidditch back, you know?”
