In the waning hours of the days festivities comes a calling of stygian wings, a flutter at one's windows whereat a gleaming eye peers effervescent. In it's beak a single thread tied precariously 'round single box draped in lavish sanguine silks. Akin to a mourning veil. This feathered beast waits patiently to be discovered, dark talons etching evidence of its arrival in splintering wood.
The reaper in red, having recently returned from a tiring day’s work that stretched long into the night, collapsed upon a chaise that occupied a corner of their boisterously decorated sitting room.
A feathered caller was the last thing Grell expected to receive; even if there was that glimmer of hope in the back of his mind that perhaps, this night, those welcomed shadows would seep into his world.
The reaper’s moment of exhaustion and self pity were put on hold when otherworldly senses alerted him someone was near. Not just someone.. a demon. ...And not just any demon.. Grell’s demon.
A gasp was drawn in as Grell lept to his feet, followed by a flurry of red as the distracted reaper nearly found the floor with his face, after stumbling over a low table in the center of the room.
Glinting dual toned eyes scanned the shadows, once some semblance of balance and composure were regained. Though.. he couldn’t find the one he was sensing. Initially a frown crossed his features, but.. then remembered his darling Raven was a tricky one, and could at times go about unseen if he so chose.
So Sebastian was watching him? He must be, if he could sense the demon so close by. In fact, he could feel eyes on him.. but just where was his dark one lurking?
That’s when the subtlest movement caught his peripheral, and he whirled around to face the window. Jaw dropping to discover the ebony bird perched on the outer ledge of the window. There was no question in the reaper’s mind just who this feathered creature was. He knew Sebastian was perfectly capable of donning other forms, thus his treasured pet name for him, even if Grell had never fully interacted with Sebastian in the shape of a corvid. Though.. he had encountered a bird, who he suspected was his demon, flying away from time to time.
“Heavens! Bassy!” The reaper exclaimed in a rush to throw open the window. “Come in, come in! I would say you’ll catch your death out there in the cold, but we both know it isn’t possible... and, if I’m the Death you catch, well... what a lovely way to end the night that would be.” Grell flirted, grinning.
“Oh?” The redhead murmured in question, noticing the demonic bird had something clasped in his beak. “What’s this?”
