       “watch out!” carson yelled out to the girl who obliviously seemed to walk right into the path of the football game he was having with his friends, diving into the sand to catch the ball. getting up he smirked and threw the ball back, his hands up in the air. “another touchdown for me.” he brushed the sand off his body and looked at the girl. “you okay? sorry my friends fucking suck at football!” he yelled across the way to them, only to have the middle finger as a response. 

wonderful. another fight with her boyfriend of almost three years, isn’t that great for kira? she’s spent years of her youth wasted on a shitty boy, who treated her like anything but a princess, and she was highly aware of that, but he was all she ever knew. tears brimming her eyes, she let herself linger in the bathroom for a moment, finding her cool once again in order to collect herself before going outside. he had a few friends over and wouldn’t she hate to be the bummer of their special, sports viewing party for a dumb mid day basketball game. composing herself, she walked out towards the living room, and sat excruciatingly far away from him and rather beside one of his friends. his friends were usually kind to her, but specifically grant, he had a charming, sweet sense of talking. “ hey grant, long time, no see. i’m so relieved you came !! ” she genuinely meant that, too. 

‘ Hey, machotes! ‘ Sienna calls from the opposite end of the room. Oakland had been crashing on her couch for a few days now and she was starting to get tired of his face. Kicking him in the leg with her piglet slippered foot, she puts her freshly manicured hand on her hip. ‘ You don’t live here, ya know. ‘

            this was the largest crowd that leo had played for yet. still not too many-- but enough that his palms had begun to sweat and his heart was beating very quickly as he had stepped up on the stage. but his set came and went in a blur, and he was soon at the bar ordering a drink with high levels of adrenaline running through his veins. with a happy laugh he sat down on a bar stool, rubbing the back of his neck as he peered at a woman sitting a few stools down. “ what’d you think? ” he asked her. leo had never been shy-- he was proud of the fact that he could talk to and get along with just about anyone. yet as he inspected the girl, wide sunglasses on-- he dipped his head a little bit to try and get a better look at her. something about the face structure seemed familiar-- he’d always been better with remembering faces, rather than names. “ did we-- do we know each other? because i swear to god-- wait-- city, right? that’s your name? ”

            “i told you that you don’t love me. so why do you keep saying it?” he asked the girl, his eyes not looking at her as he spoke. it was cold, and harsh -- but she needed to realize that loving him would only end with him fucking it up so he preferred her hating him instead. if this is what it would take then so be it. 

             “it will be your problem when you i go to the police and tell then you employed somebody underage to be a cocktail waitress!” kaydie screamed from the front door of the club where she did work -- until about five minutes ago. the money was good, and she was desperate when she walked in their at the age of 18 but now two years later she couldn’t take it anymore. the gross comments, the inappropriate touching and threats. from not only her boss but the patrons of the club. kaydie was broken, but this was enough. throwing her uniform at her boss she walked away ignoring the yells she could hear as she made her way down the street at two in the morning. it was cold, she had forgot her sneakers in the back room but at least she had everything else with her. it wasn’t a long walk home -- even if it was she needed the cool night air to calm her down and let it sink in that she now didn’t have a job. 

rolling over, his arms would usually be sprawled out, pillows all over the floor, a massacre of his bedsheets, but this time his body was so lax as he woke next to her, his arms wrapped around her smaller frame. he couldn’t help but smile, a very sloppy half awake half asleep one, but a smile nonetheless. getting up from bed, he stretched trying to keep his groans and grumbles as quiet as possible in order to not wake the sleeping girl next to him. slowly he crept out from the bedroom walls, and lazily sneaked off into the kitchen scanning the fridge trying to figure out what he could make her and him for breakfast. maybe he’d just wait til she woke up, he enjoyed the idea of her helping him, he thought it was cute and very innocent of them.
