LIKE LISTEN. THE POTENTIAL. We all know that very nearly every servant Guda has contracted with would go to hell and back for them yea? Asclepius imo is on an entirely different level (excluding Musashi, I could make an exception for Dantes too). This hasn’t really been explored much in canon quite yet obviously but THE IMPLICATIONS are TOO MUCH.

Asclepius is dead set on being able to recreate his resurrection elixir, despite that literally being what initially got him killed. Now of course this is all in the name of furthering medicinal progress yes? His only goal is to successfully recreate the thing he’s best known for? *smacks you gently with a long stick* WRONG. Asclepius is absolutely terrible at expressing his genuine emotions and feelings towards others, since all he’s ever really concerned himself with was making medical progress and so he hides behind a calm collected facade. As far as I’ve seen in the translations we’ve gotten so far, the only times this facade really drops is when he’s frustrated over being unable to recreate his resurrection elixir or embarrassed when Guda starts to see through said facade. Asclepius offhandedly mentioned that one day he might be able to bring Guda back from the dead, WHICH IS SIGNIFICANT. He becomes really flustered after he says this, and tries to cover it up by explaining it away as merely appreciating Guda as a patron, but I really don’t think Asclepius would even think to offer that to someone if he didn’t care for them a significant amount considering what happened the last time he brought someone back. I also truly don’t believe that if Asclepius is ever able to recreate this elixir, he would just go around willy nilly raising anyone who asked. He’s never mentioned once that he even intends to use it again, outside of Guda, once he has figured out how to perfect it. When Asclepius cares about someone, he cares about them deeply and unconditionally and would break any laws of the universe to see them remain safe and healthy regardless of any consequences it might bring upon himself. Asclepius’ love language is furthering his abilities to heal for the sake of others, and especially those he holds closest.
