Saw your post about revisiting dressrosa to see what interpretations were pure fanon vs actual stuff in the text relating to sabo and ussop and since I revisited it like a month ago I can at least point out: doffy gave ussop the highest bounty bc he messed up the toy operation which undid years of work, but other than that I don't think he paid any specific attention to usopp
As for sabo he *did* put his hand around a man's face and go "I could easily crush a skull in my hands" basically so there's that. I think he tried to burn someone to death for insulting ace but that's a reasonable reaction anyway. (Admittedly the second point I don't remember as well)
Obviously i hope this doesn't seem like I'm implying you shouldn't, just agreeing that some thing were exaggerated by fandom and some are reasonable jumps to make
Ohhh i see, thank you for explaining! I didnt remember that usopps bounty was bigger, i can see where the jokes come from now.... and i really didn't pay enough attention to sabo lol, i didn't remember any of these moments. I still think the fandom exaggerated his personality *too much* but yeah, i can understand why people went with that interpretation (hes kinda plain to me personally, which is why it baffled me how many people like him)
