Chapter 6: Just Be Here Now
Preview Snippet:
It was only ten o’clock and already the Librarian’s day was looking to be a busy one. He’d formally summarized all of his notes from the Bar Club meeting, including the specifications of the train that the Wanderer had been looking to build. Hopefully the Library’s connections would offer some means of procuring materials. Or, alternatively, they could get their supposed team together to build the actual thing first, though it seemed far more prudent to figure out what they could offer before resolving to lean on a maybe.
So, he’d be looking through the resources they had available, if not compiling them into another list. Which probably meant some hours sitting down pouring over records from the Archive to see what would be the best fit. Well, at least Elohim would likely be agreeable and helpful enough…
And, upon looking at the calendar, the Librarian realized that there was another pressing matter on his leger: the checking of the Library’s roster. It was a somewhat necessary thing to do when dealing with the volatile In-Between, where researchers and librarians would go off looking for materials or recording information, and potentially not come back. The Librarian had already seen a good number of young hopefuls come and go, making this an entirely necessary thing to do at least once a month.
It is that time of the year where I want to forget all my responsibilities, run away to a fantasy library where there is a little pond and a willow tree. Read away the days, transform my mental state into the words I digest

Citadel Novice by Joshua Cairos
Location Building Prompt #257
“You’re supposed to make wishes at stars, not fireworks,” you chuckle, turning your face to look at Inseong.
Even wearing fancy clothes, both of you are sitting on the sand, warm under your bare feet, despite it’s close to midnight. To celebrate your anniversary, Inseong had taken you out for dinner on a very fancy restaurant near the sea, the view was wonderful as the moon shone down on the waves and the sea breeze threw your hair in every direction.
“You can make wishes to anything you’d like,” Inseong laughs, leaning closer to you, his lips touching your ear. “As long as you wish for it with enough passion, it might come true.”
“Huh...” you throw your head back, feeling the breeze on your neck and Inseong’s lips on your cheek this time. Another explosion lights up the sky in green and golden, the glow painting yours and your boyfriend’s faces. “Okay, I got it!”
Closing your eyes, you take Inseong’s hand. Focusing as hard as you can on your wish. Many had called you a hopeless romantic, naïve, even. But Inseong always understood that you believed there was magic in everything, maybe that was also why he made you wish upon fireworks given the lack of shooting stars.
Inseong didn’t take his eyes off you, a wide smirk spreading across his face. He had his own wish, of course he did. With his free hand, he patted his pocket, where a velvet box seemed to vibrate, ready to get out. His wish was a single word from you: Yes.
