sand sea
The sand sea is located in Scalipia and is its own region. it is a massive desert with strange magical properties. For one thing its sands move and shift constantly making the majority of the sand a bit closer to quicksand. there are many different organisms who live and swim in it. You can walk on it, but you will start to sink in. instead people use sails and sleds to traverse the massive desert. Certain creatures can walk on its surface like those water walking insects.
people who live in the region make their homes and hard stony islands jutting out from the sands or platues of regular dirt desert.

Inktober 2020 - Day 13: Dune
So I’m writing fantasy in a setting based on the Judaean Desert. I decided to do that because I know that specific desert really well, living pretty close to it and traveling through it almost every year, a few times a year. I know Masada better than I know my own neighbourhood. And I never saw enough desert fantasy, and when I do it’s never this particular brand of desert (which I really like) so I’m going to be the change I want to see and write desert fantasy in a desert I love and know well. Goodbye forests and snowy mountains I never actually got to see properly, hello soft rock, ground hot enough to turn sand into cool dark glass, and nice ass springs and pools that are so goddamn fun to splash in once you finally reached them after a long walk.
