Katelyn Turner took a deep breath and walked into the shop, holding her arms close to herself. She’d driven a couple towns over on purpose. She didn’t want anyone knowing she’d come to a shop like this.
Not that she hadn’t been before, but it was still awkward, coming to this place. She turned and went straight for the section near the windows. She’d chosen this one for its large selection of lingerie, and was glad to see it didn’t disappoint.
She couldn’t believe she was actually doing this, but she felt she had to. She was the only one Damon seemed to tolerate, and he’d actually come on to her once before when he was drunk. So she was taking one for the team and trying to get his humanity back on... by seducing him.
Green. He’d said he liked her in green, that day at the party. She stared at the set, then grabbed it along with two black ones. Then she grabbed a red one too. Just in case. She already had some heels at home… heels Stefan had assured her he’d like.
How had it come to this? Just because Elena had turned him down, because fucking Katherine was a two-timing bitch who’d never been in the tomb in the first place, Damon had switched his humanity off and was attacking people left and right.
She paid for the clothing, then headed back to Mystic Falls. Now she just had to make it work.
Stefan had headed out to the Gilberts’, which meant Kate would be alone with Damon when she got there. She swallowed and eased inside, pulling off her coat. She’d worn her normal clothes over the lingerie, though the dress was a bit shorter than she was used to. She’d also taken off the vervain necklace. Better to let him think she trusted him.
She pulled the bottles of bourbon from her bag and exhaled. Time to do this.
