6. do you read fanfiction? If so, do you have any favorite authors or fics?

I do read fic. It’s been a minute since I’ve read new fic- mostly I’ve been comfort reading some of my favorites. Though I do have a few I’ve been keeping up with! Which is rare for me in a fandom- (I usually only read things once they're finished...)

For Dinluke my favorite authors are @mudhorns (AO3) and @andthepeople (AO3) One story I’m keeping up with is @leorizanzel's No Glory In The West

An unpopular opinion: I don’t think S2 was as bad as the fandom makes it out to be - was it messy? Yes. But I don’t believe it’s this hellfire where absolutely nothing makes sense.

My canon OTP: Malex, obviously.

Non-canon OTP: Camluca and Marliz

Most badass character: Liz Ortecho

Pairing I am not a fan of: Kylex

Character I feel the writers screwed up: Definitely Maria - I feel like there hasn’t been anywhere near enough on-screen development for her compared to other characters (that’s not to say it doesn’t exist because it most certainly does)

Favorite friendship: Alex and Maria

When I started shipping it: during the pilot (i watched the first 4 episodes all at once the week before 1x05 aired)- that first interaction between them, and then that first interaction at the reunion, and then the kiss! these fuckers own my soul now because of that damn forehead touch

My thoughts: Watching them in S2 learn that whole friends thing that Alex talked about wanting in 1x09 has been one of my favorite parts of S2. Giggling at the Long Farm? The way they look at each other (fools!). Michael asking Alex for something for once. Gah, it’s all beautiful.

What makes me happy about them: To see them work at wanting to be better for the other. That despite them saying they thought they’d end up together, they really do still believe it, and their actions really do show how much they still love one another.

What makes me sad about them: Their miscommunication - it’s the most frustrating thing about them, that it’s gone on for so long. But I think S2 showed that they’re working toward finally working that out, and getting better at it.

Things done in fanfic that annoy me: Alex sad and lonely pining over Michael dating Maria - I prefer canon Alex who in 2x01 doesn’t sit around wallowing around in a depression but instead gets his ass to the morgue to help Liz and in 2x02 decides he’s going to help Michael find information on his mother anyway; Michael having to grovel for Alex’s “forgiveness” for dating Maria - Alex broke up with Michael multiple times knowing he wasn’t ready to be out and in a relationship the way Michael wanted.

Things I look for in fanfic: Communication! I love fics that explore them learning to talk and work past their issues.

My kinks: Apparently communication with these two, lol.

My happily ever after for them: Therapy, obviously. Because everyone in Roswell needs it. But also, Michael moving into Alex’s house so it’s their house, and Michael kinda learning that everything doesn’t have to be transactional. And Alex learning that it’s okay to want things and doing it all the time. 

Who is the big spoon/little spoon: Michael is the little spoon, obviously.

What is their favorite non sexual activity: Something with music - writing songs, Michael playing the guitar, Alex on the keyboard... them having their dad band.

How I feel about this character: Other than she is perfect?

All the people I ship romantically with her: Everyone? Liz, Max, Michael, Kyle, and Jenna all work for me (even if I prefer some more than others)

My non-romantic OTP for this character: her and Alex, they are platonic soulmates for sure

My unpopular opinion about this character: She was given character development over the first two seasons, and it is possible to sympathize with her, and understand her actions if you care to look. 

One thing I wish had happened/would happen with this character in canon: That she’d been brought in on the alien secret sooner. It isolated her character for far too long.

B - A pairing you initially didn’t consider but someone changed your mind

most of my tony rarepairs are ships that i didn’t consider before but was introduced to through fandom tbh. i got samtony from @kimannhart, i got thortony from @van-dyne (im pretty sure), i got bruce(wayne)tony from @firebrands -- before fandom i only shipped stevetony so literally any other ship i have comes from fandom fhfhdj

G - Do you remember your first OTP, if so who was in it

okay so there’s multiple answers for this. chronologically, my first OTP is probably ginny/harry and james/lily just because i read harry potter when i was extremely young. in terms of an actual fandom experience, it’s damon/elena because that was the first time i interacted with a fandom of any kind - and actively sought out content outside of what canon provided me, and from there i started exploring stuff like percy jackson, hunger games and even harry potter outside of the source material (if that makes sense) 

Delena is still my ultimate OTP, because i dont actually think it’s possible for me to ever be invested in a ship the way I was invested in them,,,but im not really part of the TVD fandom the way i used to be when i was younger

M - Say something genuinely nice about a ship that you don’t ship (or its shippers, or anything related to you)

i don’t personally see the appeal of bruce banner x tony, just because i see them more platonic than romantic, but Bruce and Tony are quintessentially similar in ways that no other character could possibly understand, while still being different enough that they would thrive in a relationship,,,not trip over each other’s feet

Hmmmmm ok I just love tropes, is the thing. I do detest with every fiber of my being the rom-com-y trope of “everything you needed was right in front of you” and therefore the protagonist should “settle” for their bland childhood sweetheart/boyfriend/generic heteronormative lifestyle, which goes hand in hand with what I think ladies and theydies have always been told when we’re not attracted to a man: “why don’t you just give him a chance?” 

Like excuse but seriously fuck that. Boring isn’t better. Safety is better. A place of comfort is good. Making your family is good. Kindness is mandatory. Tenderness is clutch. I wanna read about characters who yearn and go and discover and create and destroy together and trust their instincts.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending, about anything at all (gender identity, sexual or romantic orientation, extended family, sexual preferences like top/bottom/switch, relationship with poetry, seriously anything)?

2. what fandoms were apart of that you aren’t any longer? One Direction. I hope wherever those boys are they're doing well. I really enjoyed my time in that fandom. I made lifelong friends and drew a lot of comics :’ )

5. what is your favorite overused trope? The toughest question. It depends on the fandom. Across the board I read- so much PWP.... and fluff. I genuinely like a good coffee shop AU.

When I started shipping it: this is entirely @audreyblanche‘s fault that I ship Camluca - she was like what if and I was like YES and she was doing her TFLN series at the time, and we needed a ship name because there wasn’t one and came up with Camluca after rejecting Jenria 😂 (it was around 1x10, i believe)

My thoughts: (aka my headcanon not based in canon at all) They start hanging out because of how angry Maria was after learning the alien secret - Maria went to Jenna as one of the only people who she hadn’t had a close relationship with before, but is still part of the group and they know each other, so Maria didn’t hold it against Jenna for not telling her the truth. From there, they start hanging out more - Jenna stops by the Pony on her nights off just to chat, and Maria tries to ignore that little flutter that starts to appear in her stomach every time it happens. One night, Jenna just stays while Maria is closing and Maria just decides fuck it, and kisses Jenna right there in the doorway as she’s leaving because she hasn’t had something good in a while and she likes how Jenna makes her laugh and smile.

What makes you happy about them: They give the other someone to talk to and confide in about all this crazy and weird shit going on in Roswell, and it makes their own bond stronger. They both understand that being lied to by someone close to you, and refuse to let it happen again. 

What makes you sad about them: That they’ll never be canon, because the potential!

Things done in fanfic that annoy me: In Camluca fic? Nothing. They’re all perfect.

Things I look for in fanfic: That it exists.

My kinks: Ooooh they’re both fiercely strong-headed women, and love thinking about them two of them battling for dominance, negotiating in the bedroom. Jenna occasionally shows up at the Pony solely with the intention of fucking Maria (or Maria fucking Jenna? really in my head is can go either way) on the pool table after closing - usually after Maria makes a call to the sheriff’s office because of rowdy customers, and knows Jenna will be stopping by.

Who I’d be comfortable with them ending up with, if not each other: How about they still end up together, but we also add Kyle to the mix? :D

My happily ever after for them: Both of them don’t have to deal with any more alien shit - they’ve sorted Maria’s abilities out, and it’s not going to be cutting their happily ever after short.

Who is the little spoon/big spoon: They switch, unless one of them has had a particularly trying day and just needs the specific comfort, the other is always okay with it.
