                          deep  sigh  followed  by  a    groan    as  he  rolls  over  in  their  uncomfortable  makeshift  bed .    eyes  are  foggy  and  still  heavy  with  sleep ,    he’d    happily    sleep  for  another  ten  minutes ,    but  he  needs  to    get  up .    fingers  squeeze  hannah’s  bicep  lightly    &    lips  press  into  the  back  of  her  shoulder  before  he  turns  onto  his  back  and  stretches .    a  pause  as  fingers  rub  at  his  eyes ,    swirling  in  circles  and    almost    lulling  him  back  to  sleep .    when  his  legs  twist  off  the  side  of  the  bed ,    he  hears  a    stirring    behind  him .    without  turning  his  head ,    he  reaches  for  his  shirt  and  pulls  it  over  his  head .                  ❝     go  back    t’bed ,    i’ll  wake  ya  up  when  food’s  ready .     ❞

                                     ❝     y’wanna  go    out    t’lunch ?     ❞                        body  drops  into  one  of  the    uncomfortable    lunchroom  chairs  situated  on  the  opposite  side  of  the  table  from  hannah .     she  hadn’t  moved  the  bag  from  her  shoulders ,    hadn’t  gotten  too comfortable  as  elbows    hover    above  the  tabletop .     nose  scrunches  and  eyes  squint ,    a  picture  of    true  disgust    at  the  sight  of  cafeteria  food  in  a  tray  in  front  of  the  blonde .    head  shakes  and  she  looks  away ,    gagging    over - dramatically    to  the  side .                    ❝     please  don’t  eat  that   .  .  .     i’m    begging .     ❞

                     ❝     hang  on ,    that’s  far  enough .    show  me  your  hands .     ❞

     ❝     don’t  act  like  we’re  never  gonna  see  each  other  again !     ❞      lucy  latches  on  tight ,    interlocking  her  fingers  behind  hannah’s  back  and    nestling    below  her  chin .    lips  push  out  in  an  exaggerated  pout ,    in  attempt  to  make  herself    laugh    so  that  she  doesn’t    cry .    arms  squeeze  once  more ,    pulling  in  a  deep  breath  and  letting  it  out  all  at  once .    finally  she  pulls  back ,    finally  they  say    goodbye .      ❝     i’ll    e - mail    you ,    and  next  year  we’ll  be    counselors !     ❞

          pause  is  momentary ,   and  he  takes  those  few  seconds  to  run  his  hand  over  his  face  and  pull  in  a    deep  breath    from  his  nose .           ❝     han ,    we’ve  been  thinking  about  it    all  night .     ❞      immediately  movements  pick  back  up ,    hastily  he  works  on  collecting  supplies  enough  to  last  him  a  week ,    tops ,    on  the  road .    he  stops  only  when  he  cannot  fill  his  bag  any  more ,    and  once  he’s  reached  that  point  he    forces  it    shut  and  sits  across  from  hannah ,    lifting  her  hands  in  his  and  pressing  a    kiss    into  one  of  her  palms .        ❝     i    promise    i’ll  be    fine .     ❞

                         suddenly  she  grows    somber    and  finishes  off  the  rest  of  her  booze ,    jumping  in  her  stool  to    flag  down    the  bartender .         ❝     oh    shit ,    han ,    i’m  losin’  you  for    forever !     ❞           body  falls  back  into  her  seat ,    lifting  a  french  fry  to  her  mouth  while  shoving  hannah    softly    with  her  other .         ❝     you’re  getting    married !    since  when  did  you  wanna  get    married ??     ❞
