First off, can you describe your sound to someone who hasnât heard it before?
Aggressively enthusiastic, like an ADHD kid on cocaine â we try to mix the listenability and catchiness of pop-punk in with a bit of technicality and heaviness. Like metal spin-kicked skate punk off its skateboard.
You guys are opening for Mayday Parade in December, how excited are you guys for that?
We couldnât be more stoked. This will be our first international opening show and Galatos is a fantastic venue so it should be a heap of fun.
If you guys could claim one Mayday Parade song as your own - which would it be?
Um. Terrible Things. Probably.
What else is in the future plans for Fallstate?
Weâve got another EP that should be out shortly after the Mayday Parade gig, then hopefully some more shows. After that thereâs talk about taking six months off to write some metal. Weâll see. Thereâs definitely more in the bank so weâll try to keep things rolling.
Youâve been around a fair few years now, and have worked with a lot of other musicians in the pop punk scene - if you could see one band re-unite, who would it be? (We vote Selfhood!)
Selfhood are awesome â we never had a chance to play with them but we still listen to them regularly. Matt did a guest vocal spot on our first album. Iâd probably pick The Rabble though â theyâre another band we never had the pleasure of seeing but 3 of us grew up on the coast listening to them and theyâre kind of legendary.
What has been one of your favourite memories from a live show?
Our final Kings Arms show with Written by Wolves has to be a standout - every single band on the bill kicked ass and the vibe was great the whole night.
If you could start one silly rumour about Fallstate - what would it be?
Weâre a polyamorous gay 5some.
Lastly - convince us to come to see you guys open for Mayday Parade in 3 words.
Sweaty. Loud. Naked.
