#fallout oregon

Unfortunately, Fallout: Oregon is no longer a thing. Real life (work responsibilities, personal disasters, chronic illness) caught up with the moderation team, and things eventually came to a close. I cherish the time I spent there and the stories I was able to create, however!

For example, I have an original Atom Cat that has nothing to do with the story of the fourth game as a whole. 😅

I do! Longtime readers will remember Hermes (pictured in my icon), Aanya, and Saoirse, my player character stand-ins for Fallout: New Vegas, Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 respectively.

I do, however, have a sizeable cast of more peripheral characters as well, most of whom were either created or repurposed for the Fallout: Oregon server.

My favorites of these are Goldfinch and Pine, psyker "twins" sharing one consciousness, The Hammerhead, a hulking raider boss commanding her own aquatic army, and Leo Kramer, a member of an unbelievably corrupt hypercapitalist cabal.

You may have noticed already, but I’m back to posting reactions! This is because, at long last, I have graduated college and now find myself with more free time than I know what to do with- or at least far more than I had previously. 

I now have more time than ever to put into my creative endeavors, among them this very blog! To keep radioactive-reactions more sustainable, I have decided to open up a ko-fi that anybody can donate to if they enjoy the blog and have the means. The second of the major players is the Washington Brotherhood of Steel! This chapter started as a simple scouting party, but dug their heels in once  they discovered a massive, abandoned laboratory sequestered away under Mount Saint Helens. Years of isolation and radio silence from headquarters (largely the fault of the ongoing NCR-Brotherhood conflict) took their toll, however. Aanya Nāyaka, a gifted and ambitious Scribe, took full advantage of the chaos and confusion, granting herself a field promotion to Elder that none of the higher-ups were around to dispute.

Under the guidance of Elder Nāyaka, the Brotherhood’s interests have shifted from the technological to the supernatural, urged ever forward by their leaders undying conviction that *something* waits for them just past the veil, something that will prove to be the key to their domination. Even now, the experiments continue, and the Brotherhood patrols northern Oregon for those careless enough to be whisked away to their laboratory...

Hey! While I work on extricating myself from school, work and other pressing matters, I figured I’d make a few short posts about the factions present in Fallout: Oregon, a side project I’ve been working on in my free time! At the moment, we have nine factions - some familiar, some not so much, and all available for the players (you) to join! If you like New Vegas, writing, or this blog, you’ll probably like Fallout: Oregon!

Kicking things off is the NCR, one of the factions vying for control of Oregon.  In 2281, the New California Republic has come a long way since its beginnings as a humble village. The sprawling nation offers the closest thing to a pre-War lifestyle this side of the country has to offer - the  bigger cities, like Hub and Arroyo, even have paved roads and cars! - but is notoriously rife with corruption and partial to aggressive expansion. With Arroyo as a major foothold in southern Oregon, the NCR continues to set its sights northward, creeping steadily up the West Coast. Under the leadership of General Marcus Monroe, the march of progress - or NCR’s idea of it - seems almost unstoppable, although the General has had to contend with a shortage of supplies and troops thanks to the seemingly all-important Mojave campaign. Even so, morale is high, but the NCR is hardly the only force with their eye on Oregon...
