The leaves are changing

and so are we

our life, rearranging

to be who we need to be

Your hands are callused and worn

from the falling wall

you no longer wanted to be torn

and I no longer felt so small

I see the new look in you

the way you stare just a little longer

and how you talk without a cue

how your grip is much stronger

The life I saw in the beginning

is flooding back into your being

and in my head my thoughts are swimming
