“Ya sure this is enough cinnamon?” Shinji asks, staring down at the swirling spice and sugar in the bowl he holds up for you to see.

“Hm?” You pull away from the oven to check the bowl he had waiting in his hands; you had been checking on the donuts. “Yeah, that’s good. Just add a bit more sugar.”

“That’s gonna be a problem, doll.” You raise an eyebrow curiously as a downcast expression takes place on his face. “The only sugar we’ve got left around here is you.” His frown shifts to a smirk as he draws you to him by your waist. He holds you to him in an embrace, swaying lightly in time with the rhythm of the music.

“Uh-huh, that so?” You giggle. “You made that joke like 30 minutes ago, love. Are we starting to lose our memory already?” You poke his forehead through his silky bangs.

“What can I say? It’s hard to keep track of things when yer beauty is so dazzlin’, doll.”

“You flirt.”

“Only fer you.” He whispers against your lips before pressing them to yours. He’s soft with it at first, kissing you sweetly, the faint taste of apple cider on his lips as his hands hold onto your waist tenderly. Something shifts, though, and suddenly there’s more heat to it; teeth nibbling on your bottom lip, tongue swiping against it before invading your senses. The pleasant warmth in your chest spreads lower as the familiar feeling of desire stirs low in your abdomen.

A loud timer rings in the distance, and with a sigh, you reluctantly move to pull yourself away, though Shinji chases you with eager lips.

“Mm, Shinji,” you mumble between hungry peppered kisses. “They’re gonna burn.” Pressing more firmly against his chest this time to pull back.

“It’s fine, I’ve got all the dessert I need right here, darlin’.” He purrs, voice dropping, taking on a sultry manner.

“After all the time we spent making them, I think not!” With finality, you place your hand over his mouth to halt his pecks. “We’ve just got one last step; afterward, you can have all the dessert you want.” A renowned hunger flashes in his honey eyes, and you can feel him smirk against your palm.

“Think you can be patient?” A coy smile plays on your lips.

Shinji gingerly takes hold of your hand, placing a delicate kiss to your skin before pulling away with a wide grin. “Well, we'd better get these donuts finished, cuz I’m starvin’!”

You chuckle, watching him take the donuts out of the oven—they look a bit too over-baked for your liking—and rush back to the cinnamon sugar mixture to quickly finish so that he can, in his words, “finish eatin’ ya up!”

The delicious aroma of the baked treat fades away as the night carries on, long forgotten, replaced by something far more sensual.

I ended up baking some apple cider donuts to help with the writing process, lol, and then I realized Shinji would probably just be suuuper distracting. (ᵕ—ᴗ—) But I love him for that! ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
