Finally back with my feet somewhat on the ground after a big move. Taking some time to start rebuilding my practice, I had to get rid of the majority of my materials as I simply did not have the space to bring them :( tonight I am refurbishing my handmade rune stone set and lighting a candle and setting some simple intentions for the waxing moon. I miss doing large offerings and more complicated spells and rituals, but this will have to do for tonight.
I’m so excited for the March blood moon, and to celebrate Lencten-tíd, and to honor lady Hréðe! Hail to the upcoming month of wildness and tempestuous weather, a month for tilling soil and praying for a fruitful planting season.
I love winter, and I’m happy to see it hanging on a bit longer (east coast just got a blizzard!) but I know that all things must change, so I will embrace it with joy.
I am tentatively wanting to build a relationship with Frigg, but I wasn’t sure if the timing is right, especially since I only recently started seriously practicing again. After meditating for a bit, I decided to do a one rune pull, to ask Frigg and the gods in general for a sign if I am on the right path.
I pulled upright berkano, the symbol for the mother, for spring, for new beginnings, for the beautiful birch tree. Opening my eyes to see berkano resting in my palm was honestly a magical moment.
I put a spool of thread on my altar space for Frigg as a thank you. I feel like I just got the warmest hug, it is genuinely such a blessing to feel like you’re taking the right spiritual steps forward.
Eventually I want to find space for all of the heathen gods and goddesses on my altar, but I felt like starting with those I feel drawn to the most was a good place to begin. There might be two feet of snow outside my window, but the warmth of spring is blooming in my heart right now!

I usually consider myself a dog person and didn’t think I would get a cat, but since I’ve been venerating Freyja I can’t stop looking at adoptable cats in the area I’m moving to! I really underestimated the whole “patron goddess of cats” thing, haha.
I do love cats, I just hadn’t seriously thought about adopting one before like I am now, or like I have before with dogs. But now, rescuing/adopting a cat is all that’s on my mind!
I’m so mad that I can’t drink mugwort tea, I am allergic to ragweed and mugwort is in the same family/ really similar to ragweed. I have thought about risking it but every source says that I should avoid it :( I just want cool tea dreams!

may i ask how you got into paganism? and how did you know it was the right path for you?
Hello! I have always been loosely an animist since I was a child, and that childhood belief of the trees and rocks and fairies and things just being part of the world never really went away. I wasn’t raised religious (although I grew up in a very Christian area) so my parents didn’t care if I checked out witchy-type books in the library or anything. I dabbled in things like basic divination and rune reading as well as a few basic spells in my teens. As I got older, I started doing a lot of research about different paths, such as ceremonial magic, Hellenic/ kemetic polytheism, etc.
I found heathenry/ Norse paganism after researching the religions and culture related to my heritage, and it just fit, and felt right. I always encourage people interested in paganism and witchcraft to never feel like it’s a race or a rush to find the path for you. It often takes a long time to find the right fit.
