Has anyone else thought about Black Winter and realized that Caitiff broke an unspoken rule? Caitiff isn’t the first time Falconreach or some other town has been attacked by an army of the undead. But those undead have always been more or less ancient. Almost every undead army has been comprised entirely of skeletons. Never once in any other undead invasion have the necromancers proceeded to raise the defenders’ fallen. Not even Sepulchure, Mr Big Bad himself, stooped to something that horrifying. Then Caitiff did, and it almost broke a lot of people. Dealing with undead army type threats like the Scourge (from Warcraft) or the Vampire Counts (from Warhammer) or any other such factions from various media has always been a horrifying thing. But I feel like there was something especially horrifying about when Caitiff did it, because they had been fighting the undead and necromancers for so long without that cardinal rule ever being broken.
And then Caitiff committed the unspoken sin and everyone realized not only how evil and horrible Caitiff was, but also how fortunate they had been every time before that the necromancers and doom knights had chosen to follow that unspoken rule, and how much of a horror show their lives could have been if every one of them were as truly evil as Caitiff was.
Aria: Hey, what’s the name of the guy who lives two houses down?
Ash: His cats’ names are Walter and Rose.
Aria: That’s not what I asked.
Ash: That is the information I have.
Oh my god.
The music in the scene where Serenity says goodbye to the Hero before going with Death uses the same Lietmotif as the music from Tomix's death scene and I'm UPSET.

mood of the day
stand in the middle of Falconreach for about one hour, just listening to the song.
I ... I am fiiiiiiinnnnnneeeeeeeeee ...
Ash: Bad News: Grams locked the keys inside the Pet Shop.
Ash: Good News: We didn’t have to wait around for a locksmith.
Ash: Bad News: Grams finds it very concerning that I know how to pick locks, and tried to unlock my Tragic Backstory. I was too embarrassed to admit that the reason I learned was because, at thirteen, I figured that was the kind of skill that would impress cute girls.
Ash: Good News: A cute girl saw me do it.
Ash: Bad News: It was Aria, and since she’s already seen me fall out of several trees, cry because I saw a fawn that was just too dang small, and knows I can ride a unicycle, she’ll never think I’m cool no matter what I do. It’s too late. She knows.
