Yesterday was my first day of orientation. It was just as exciting as expected. Very dry, though important enough. I thought it was weird though because they kept us there all day and didn't provide food. I went to "Baguette Express" and got a cajun chicken sandwich. It was half bad. Can't beat £3.80 for a sandwich, chips, and a drink. I also got a hazelnut hot chocolate from Starbucks so I could steal their wi-fi. It was delish.

There was a session where we could meet with department representatives about courses. It was really hectic because all of the study abroad students were all trying to sort out all of their courses across the board. We were struggling to figure out the enrollment and registration process, as well as talk with professors about our classes. It was really disorganized.

My friend from Bentley hadn't gotten all setup yet, so after orientation, we went back to Tesco to pick up some things. I got a mirror (because I don't have a satisfactory one), a scale (how can I have a weight goal without a scale), and garlic (for obvious reasons). We also invested in some cider and wine because I could.

We then headed to the social mixer, but it was kind of odd. First, we were an hour late and all the food was gone. Also, everyone was at tables, rather than standing up. It made mingling near impossible. It ended not even an hour later. It was weird that they only had it for 2 hours and ended so early. We headed back, grabbing a pizza along the way at an Indian food place. It was as to be expected from a non-pizza place. Mediocre, but nonetheless satisfying.

When I got back to my dorm, one of my flatmates was moved in. His name is Adam and he's from UMASS Amherst. He was really cool and we stayed up for a while talking. He is a business major, with an interest in architecture, so we totally understood the whole "creative mind at a business school" deal. I'm glad I met one of my flatmates. Plus, he seems really down to earth, so hopefully that means we'll get along and can keep a clean apartment.

I stayed up for a while Skyping with The Boy (Brandon). As usual, we talked for a long time until I had to go to sleep at midnight.

I woke up way too early. Why do we have to be there at 9:30? Orientation was super boring today. It was redundant from yesterday's presentations. Adam and I are going back this afternoon to make chilli and fajitas. Yay for a Mexican feast!

I'll probably take a nap too. Do a bit of organizing. See Dad and Grampie on last time most likely.
