“D’you remember the lie detector? Thought that thing was gonna cut my fingers off.” Lando rambles on, not realising how much closer he just put Oscar to tripping over his own feet in front of what might as well be their entire team.
In lieu of an appropriate reaction Oscar lets his face just do what it wants. He feels, helpless, as his eyebrows raise and his eyes widen, staring staunchly at the floor because as long as he doesn’t look Lando in the eye he can still plausibly deny having had any sort of reaction to d’you remember the lie detector of all fucking things.
Oh, does he remember the lie detector? Fucking hell. Of course he remembers the fucking lie detector. Could he ever not.
“Hmm,” he says, trying to school his voice into something that doesn’t sound suspiciously like yeah I remember how you giggled and blushed and hid your face into the crook of your elbow, I watched every single moment of it or the somehow catastrophically worse yes I’ve been jacking off to the knowledge of you having to re-buckle the straps because your monster-sized fingers wouldn’t fit into the space mine were perfectly fucking snug in, so thanks yeah I reckon I remember the lie detector.
Instead, he says, in an unfortunately conspiratorial tone, “I don’t recall it was that tight for me.” Which is somehow worse, and more revealing, than just the truth. If he’s lucky Lando won’t make the connection between Oscar remembering the lie detector and being able to fucking, compare their hand girth like an actual stalker.
“Heh, right,” Lando huffs. “You and your dainty princess hands. I’m jealous, Osc, mine are like, fucking monstrous,” he teases, mischief in his voice like he’s not just flipped Oscar’s world upside down.
Lando shimmies both his hands out of his pockets and lifts them chest-level, demonstrating his point to Oscar.
Inexplicably, some primal part of his brain decides that he should be listening to his mirror neurons instead of basic etiquette. He lifts his hands to match. “Yeah,” he says.
“See? Tiny.” Lando says for emphasis, taking his other hand and craning it all the way over just to poke Oscar’s frozen-still limb. If Oscar wasn’t already used to Lando’s complete disregard of personal space, he’d think it was weird. Well he’d probably think it was weird if he could think at all right now.
“Yeah,” he says again, pleasantly surprised that his tone is still bored levels of flat. Fucking hell.
“Well, you know what they say about a guy’s hands…” Lando jests. He turns – to Oscar’s utter horror – to look him dead in the eye, anticipating something; Oscar’s reaction, maybe even a response.
Oscar opens his mouth, says, voice mortifyingly rough, “right,” realises that there’s no way that’ll be enough to save either of them from social oblivion, and continues. “Big hands, big-” he fails to think rationally, “ego?”
And Lando- Lando laughs. Not a big outburst, just a cackle, of sorts. It brings the crinkle back to the corner of his eyes and snaps the tension from his shoulders.
“Big hands, big ego!” He says. Bright like the sun, a happy little tremor in his voice. Like he’s relieved Oscar’s joke was funny.

7. A medium of art you don't work in but appreciate
painting, specifically guache (and tempera and acrylics as well tbh. anything that's like solid-looking is so so edible to me). I cannot paint for the life of me, esp because of how used I am to being able to make changes. I'd go insane but man is it satisfying to watch. oh also charcoal like gesture drawing? black magic.
23. Do you use different layer modes
YUP! ALL OF EM! ALL AT ONCE! layer modes are like My Medium tbh. like about 50% of my process consists of scrolling through them all and seeing what they can Do, it's like gambling but I always win :)

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated
as you said I did already answer this here but I shall find another for u...
I'd say a lot of my like, pre-f1 art is "underrated". I posted some of it on here (aaaages ago tbf) and they got literally like 5 note each which I Understand (fandom is what gets you likes unless you're literally a god given talent) but still. my personal favorite is this piece :3
there's something about the stark contrasts and his (my oc Arlen who you can learn more about here #ad) body language and the clouds and the sickening green of the walls just.... thematically fuck. still think about this regularly tbh
ooh tough choice honestly there were SO many good ones this year (all grid round but I am, clearly, heavily biased towards Lando). first instinct is to say Lando and Oscar's singapore helmets (do not separate them) but Lando's herend porcelain one for hungary is both absolutely gorgeous and just special to me on a personal level (raaahhh hungary and all). Zhou's special helmet for the chinese gp is also a massive contender. and Charles' monaco and abu dhabi ones (the latter because it makes me want to sob tbh). Max's WDC helmet. Lando's qatar/abu dhabi helmet. all the helmets.
18. A rule you'd make for next year
first of all, fix the FiA. just in general jfc what even were some of these penalties this year. and second, make the end-of-season "rookie race" or whatever the fuck they were calling it real. for the uninitiated it would basically be a race after the end of the F1 season in which next years rookies/junior drivers in F2/F1A get to try their luck in the F1 cars for a (I assume sprint-like) race. lowkey less relevant this year since there's gonna be 5 whole ass rookies coming in next season anyway but like think about it. 20 youngins with absolutely nothing to lose on track. in F1 cars. IMAGINE the divebombs and heroics (and the exposure they would all get!). if F2 is anything to go off of that race would be possibly the most entertaining event of the year (and relatively stress free for the viewers). the fact it was not implemented for this year is such an FiA fumble
horrified to admit that I, as a wee lad, was very much a candle eater (they make for a good chew toy okay :c) so real. but also I'm terrified of putting anything scented anywhere near any of my orifices I feel like I'll get poisoned

hi, hello i finished reading force of attachment today and holy fuck. please excuse me if this doesn't make total sense, i've got so much to say!!
before diving into anything tho, i'd like to thank you! force of attachment is one of the most amazing reads i've had, like ever. maybe partially because you managed to combine two of my special interests PERFECTLY. it was everything.
let's start with the chatacters! jedi oscar was so fucking spot on, i loved being in his head, adored how his relationship with the force grew in parallel his relationship with lando. purple light saber? absolutely fitting. and then lando, the little minx the little gremlin! oh he was so well written, i loved how you let us get to know him bit by bit. lando at the zoo was so adorable, and his trust in oscar from the first second... yeah they both have my heart. mark was a very pleasant surprise, i ended up adoring him too, and galex being galex!!!!
you got me giggling and kicking my feet so many times, screaming too at some parts, and crying at the end.
i have to metion the coruscant chapter specifically (not just cause i could barely read from the tears), because it was so beautifully written and delicately crafted! i adore that you've decided to approach things from a non canon perspective, because yes, attachments aren't necessarily bad when you can process your feelings around them.
the attention to detail was also out of this world, i felt like i was watching a movie while reading the story. it fits so seamlessly into the star wars universe! the fun fact about a mudhorn's egg being fuzzy, the kyber arch, the podracing on tatooine!!!
i know i'm repeating myself but it was perfect. thank you so much for writing and sharing it!!!
augh thank you so much!!! i'm glad i could do both f1 and star wars justice for you :) i'm glad you liked my jedi oscar he's sooooo special to me. the purple lightsaber was jenna @oscarmeowstri's call bu i think it worked well! i too love star wars. clearly. and it was cool to learn even more about the universe i already loved while writing this fic! this fic was very inspired by the high republic series, which i definitely recommend if you haven't read them. i love stories about jedi being complicated and messy and figuring things out and this was my way of exploring that! thank you again for the nice compliments!!! <3
