Hi, If you fail a course how does that work when repeating it. Does you first attempt show or the second attempt.
Both your attempts will show up on your transcript, but only the second attempt will be counted in your GPA.

hi I've tried enrolling in my classes. it just wont let me though. I failed psych 1010 and now I can't enrol in it again since it says I don't mean the prerequisite for that class. What should I do?
Hi anon,
I would recommend contacting the Department of Psychology about this.

Hey do courses with a grade of E count as credits. So far I have completed 27 credits and two of my 3 credit courses have an E. Does that mean I still have 27 credits or do I only have 21 credits. Hope this ask wasn't too confusing. Thank you!
No, getting an E grade means you’ve failed the course and will not receive credit towards your degree. You need a D or above to obtain credit for any course at York, so you have 21 earned credits.
Not confusing at all actually, you’re most welcome!

If a failed a course this year, can i take an equivalent course at another university? i live up north in ontario and i dont want to spend on residence during the summer for just one course so can i just take an equivalent course at another school or should it be re-taken at YorkU?
You can do this, I actually used this to get ahead one year so that I wouldn’t have as many courses to take the next year. You can take an equivalent course through another school as long as you have acceptable documentation.
I had to have a Letter of Permission document signed by the head of the Canadian Studies department at Glendon - you would have to get permission from whatever department is in charge of the course at York that you’d be re-taking at the other institution. Instructions on how to do this can be found here: https://registrar.yorku.ca/enrol/lop
Good luck

Hey, I just failed one of my fall courses and I was taking 18 credits (60% of full course load) and I would probably have to submit an Academic Explanation letter to OSAP at the end of the year because I'm dropping to 15 credits. So my question is If I add a 3 credit course to my winter courses and pass all the 18 credits, should I still have to submit the letter at the end of the year or not?
I have no idea - it depends on OSAP, but if you do get the 60% course load technically you shouldn’t have to, but they may still make you submit it since you failed rather than dropped a course.

Hey, so I took a course in my first year and I failed it. I took it again and passed it with an A. But the F is still on my record. Is there any way to remove it?
You can only petition to remove it.

What happens if u fail a course while with osap??
You may have an academic warning. If it’s your first time basically you’re asked to write a letter of explanation to address the situation. I believe on the second time, you may be restricted from applying for OSAP for a certain period.

If York accepts my petition to drop the failed course, I should be at good academic standing. But if they dont, I will be required to withdraw, how do I fight this? Please Im really freaking out :(
Petitioning and then appealing if the petition gets rejected are the only things you can do unfortunately.
You can also apply for the Fundamentals of Learning program if you’re in LAPS. http://laps.yorku.ca/student-resources/academic-resources-and-faqs/fundamentals-of-learning/
