she hadn't been careful enough, this time. not enough planning, too much urgency in her movements. he'd gotten the best of her for long enough to slice open her shoulder, a gash that would leave a scar bigger than any of her others, but he did not get away. her injury may have slowed her down, but not enough for the man to get away from her. even as she tied him up and knifed him down, he called her a crazy bitch, his tears falling into the grass until the screaming and crying stopped all together. her kills were never messy, nor complicated. she meant to kill them, not put them on display, but clarice was always happy to cut off their wedding ring finger and take it with her. she'd hid it away in her car, covered in plastic wrap and stuffed into an ice filled cooler, before she left the scene and made her way toward the emergency room. 'doesn't hurt that bad, fortunately. sure it looks worse than it actually is,' clarice allows doctor king to help remove her jacket, agent refusing to wince at the pain shooting down her arm. next came her shirt, bloodied where it should be white, slid from her small frame to leave her shoulders bare for the resident to see. @faerys.
sensed him before she even opened the door, some people a little easier to simply feel when familiar. as if her body, her powers more specifically, recognize them somehow. after the day she had, human interactions was very low on her list of things she wanted to deal with. then again, elias wasn't like most people. a familiarity there, that she didn't find with most people. so instead of walking away, finding some hotel room for the night, she walk inside her own apartment. shoes, jacket, keys all disposed off by the door before walking inside, gaze landing on him eating the left overs from her takeout last night. ❝ didn't know i had an obligation to report to you. ❞ bag lifted up on the kitchen island with a heavy thud, before brow raise. ❝ why are you eating my food ? ❞

Tried out some new techniques and things, and I'm really pleased this time with the direction my digital illustrations are going. As difficult and time-consuming as some of the detail work was on these I feel like it was worth it, as the pieces all turned out as something I'm proud of. And these really were a challenge for most of the month, as August was a Bad Wrist month for me. The RSI gods were not smiling on me at all, but dammit I got my work done anyway!
With all that said, for September I'm going to be trying something different, rather than full illustrations. Doing the ones I've done over the past few months I've learned a lot about how I want to move forward working in this style, so it's time to try something new and push my creativity at something other than full page illustrations.
