I keep seeing all these posts with questions about the Dangerous Crow Boy Whose Job It Is To Destroy Plastic and I hate to break it to you guys... I think we might have to read the book.

i could become a dangerous crow boy who destroys plastic too... my uncle does look as though he's had some work done
Hey so the author of Crow Boy and Plastic Girl has a FAQ. And. Um. Here are my favourite snippets.
Also I appreciate that she’s being a good sport about this. Even though she’s really leaning into the unhinged parts here. She would apparently also appreciate us using the tag #faeguardians.
I mean they are trending, but it’s not— well.
Are you SURE you’re not on Tumblr dude #jugglinglabforsexyman
She’s an INFLUENCER. NO.
You know it doesn’t seem very eco warrior to me to carve a tree trunk up. But what do I know about the 2000 year plastic vs magic apocalypse.
Here’s the link. I think I need to lie down
hi pearl i thought this would be of interest to you https://lanapecherczyk.com/en-us/blogs/news/plastic-girl-vs-dangerous-crow-boy-faqs
THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS!! i genuinely can’t wait until the book gets here. my thoughts:
immediately i am so glad she isn’t taking this as a mockery. my own intention has never been to insult her work, and in general the tone around this book that i’ve seen on here has, while starting off similar, taken a sharp turn from the common booktok mockery tone into like a gentler teasing curiosity. the way that crow boy is popular on tumblr right now is also exciting to me because i really admire how self-published romance and erotica have been taking off lately — there’s a booktok table at barnes & noble! ice planet barbarians was picked up by random house after going viral! a lot of discussion of this subgenre is caught up in misogyny (how could someone write something like this? are women seriously reading this shit? the usual suspects re: romance/erotica panics) and don’t acknowledge how brilliant these writers are on a business and marketing level. that got off track; what i mean to say is that i’m excited for her! the fae guardians saga, to which the company of vengeful crows belongs, is currently ten books long. virality on another platform is GREAT news.
i did a bit of research before ordering tcovc, so i knew some of this going in, but i’ve been steadfastly avoiding posts by people also reading the book, so some of this is totally new to me. the fae reclamation of the world post-nuclear apocalypse, for example, is COMPLETELY new to me, as is our leading lady being “a human from our time who froze during a nuclear winter and thawed two thousand years later.” immediately obsessed.
she’s funny for this. keep them in suspense.
“this magic refuses to flow where plastic and metal exist.” ECOFANTASY LET’S GO!
“bromance gone wrong” is a phrase i will be turning over in my head for some time. i’m not hearing a firm no in regards to crow boy slash fiction.
DIALECT BASED MISCOMMUNICATION PLAYING OFF PRE-ESTABLISHED ROMANTASY TROPES IS REALLY GOOD.
i love that the asshole ex was a pro footballer with a mullet. i know this is australian football, but in a post-travis kelce world, writing an athlete into a romance novel as the asshole ex is a radical act.
confirmation that the crow boys would “burn that shit down” if let loose in a shein/temu/amazon warehouse. again: not the most environmentally efficient way to go about destroying plastic, but the energy is highly appreciated.
per her request, i will be tagging my personal liveblogging posts faeguardians. i’m even more excited now!

Turns out you can get the art from the dangerous crow boy TikTok on a postcard for like. Six dollars. I’m so glad this author understands the size of thing I want to put on my wall.
was looking into the dangerous crow boy thing and there is something that tumblr should keep in mind when posting about it.
while tagging posts as dangerous crow boy is ok the author would like everyone to use #faeguardians tag as well. just to let people know about the series and it takes 2 seconds to add the extra tag.
also crow boys name is River and plastic girl is Blake.
source her face for the series: https://lanapecherczyk.com/en-us/blogs/news/plastic-girl-vs-dangerous-crow-boy-faqs
