the desire to make a protagonist character have schizophrenia in an attempt to make representation that isn't just "evil chaotic creepo" VS the knowledge that i would need to entirely restructure the very foundation of the story's plot from the ground up due to the fact that the plot genuinely involves reality itself suffering a major distortion and nearly being destroyed and if i attempt to give the protagonist schizophrenia i just know that there will be a not-insignificant group of people who come to the incorrect conclusion that she hallucinated the entire thing
