What’s a collaboration without a cause? This year we are excited to be working with Rochester Refugee Resettlement Services to help facilitate social change and support our local refugee community.

The RRRS Mission: Collaborating to provide services and opportunities to ensure assimilation of refugees into our society by providing assistance as they strive to be self-sustaining neighbors while still maintaining their own cultural heritage.

Leaning on her depth of experience in content development, events, and project management, Lauren ensures we're telling stories through the strongest platforms and channels out there. A talented writer and social media whiz, she delivers integrated strategies to meet the needs of our diverse clients.

Hooked to the causes from the very start, Kieran elevates brands and campaigns by tying it all back to the mission. He concepts and designs beautiful pieces that tell stories of strength, hope, new beginnings, and the feeling of home through print and digital.

Michael Kelly

Role in EUREKA! 2018: Lead Facilitator

Title: RRRS Design and Innovation Lead 

Favorite Food: REAL FOOD

Michael Kelly is an Adjunct Professor of Industrial Design at RIT and a Design and Innovation Lead at Rochester Refugee Resettlement Services. Before earning his MFA in Industrial Design at RIT, he received his BS in Human Factors from Cornell University and was a Research Fellow at Herman Miller (among other things). His work focuses on entrepreneurship, small-scale sustainable manufacturing, and innovation facilitation. He is excited to welcome everyone to come learn from and help out RRRS!

Karley Allis

Role in EUREKA! 2018: Facilitator

Favorite Food: Pineapple Ham & Scalloped Potatoes

Karley Allis is a 2018 graduate of RIT's graphic design program. She currently lives and works in Ithaca, NY for Advantage Sport & Fitness as a designer and marketing specialist. She discovered her love for social design and the amazing and unforeseen ways that it can help people while participating in the first Eureka! design blitz. Her favorite food is ham with pineapple and scalloped potatoes (on a plate, not pizza) and her spirit animal is definitely a cat because there is nothing better than curling up and taking a nap in the sunlight. 

Dan Grinthal

Role in EUREKA! 2018: Facilitator

Favorite food: Free Food

Dan is a 2018 graduate from RIT Industrial Design. In a few of his past lives, he's been a game designer, a packaging engineer, and a disaster relief worker. He's currently a freelance writer and brand designer based in Rochester. Dan always enjoys mentor roles because he gets to pretend he did something important while watching smart people do all the hard work.

Shaemus Spencer

Role in EUREKA! 2018: Facilitator

Favorite Food: A donut with coffee

Shaemus is a double alum of RIT, graduating in 2015 with a BFA in Illustration and again in 2018 with an MFA in Visual Communication Design. Shaemus has spent the last several years working in branding, marketing, and advertising with global clients and local non-profits. He recently joined the team at Helen & Gertrude, a social-first advertising agency in downtown Rochester, as a motion graphics designer. Shaemus also teaches in the illustration department at RIT. In his free time, he enjoys watching hockey, hiking, and relaxing with his rabbit Yumi.
