Some special skills I will contribute to the Design Blitz team are my photography skills, keen eye for aesthetically pleasing designs, my close attention to detail, my slightly obsessive need to get things done in a timely manner, and my overall friendly disposition.

I’m excited about working with new and different people, although also somewhat wary since past group project experiences have not always been positive in terms of equal contribution and clear communication when it comes to other group members. One thing I will bring to the table is my clear communication skills. I'm passionate about telling stories and solving problems through design, and I believe design shouldn't be used just for personal gain but to benefit society as a whole in any way possible.

I feel that more minds are better than one because we can enhance each other's ideas and be very thorough. I enjoy thinking and working collaboratively. I work primarily digitally and with design but I do not want to be limited to only those experiences in college. I have had an interest in working in an interdisciplinary manner all my life. I enjoy learning about genetics, biology, and various cancers. In high school, I did a lot of LGBTQ advocacy work and enjoyed helping other people. I want to participate in the SOD Blitz because I want to explore what I can do to help other people while working with other diverse students. While my main interests lie within the health field, I would like to explore other areas as well.

I want to impact the world by helping to close the gap between people with access to technology and resources, and people without them. My time spent living in Texas, and my time spent abroad volunteering gave me a deep connection, a want and a need to help people like the ones I met, the ones that even with nothing they were still giving to us, to me. I believe I can achieve this through my work as an industrial designer, by widening the user profile of different technology devices. Eureka empowers students and brings different designer together to widen the user profile of things and places that are right in our own backyard. Improving the world around us through design.

I have always been an energetic worker. Throughout my life- this energy has shown itself in my upbeat attitude and ability to keep myself busy. I feel very motivated and passionate when it comes to political issues in the current climate. I think it is really important to stand with refugees, and I believe my stance and motivation to improve the positions of other's coming into our country is valuable. I am also motivated to learn more about how to put design to good use. In figuring out what exactly I want to do post-grad, I think it's really useful and important to learn how to integrate meaningful activism into my design work.
