Today we are chatting about a new and improved makeup product! I'm sure you all remember when the original e.l.f Cosmetics Poreless Putty Primer , £9.00 went viral. It was a very unique face base product since it was a primer in putty form that you applied as a normal makeup product. Personally I wasn't a fan of this form because I didn't like the texture of the putty and it looked messy pretty quickly in the pot (new one is photographer above).

Now I'm sure you can all imagine how excited I was when I heard about the new version of this primer called the e.l.f Cosmetics Liquid Poreless Putty Primer, £10. Personally I have always got on better with liquid primers because they are so much easier to blend and you don't have to worry about textures. The new and improved formula is designed to be a longwear, silky, gripping primer.

This primer creates a gorgeous luminous finish on the skin and so far I have tested it with various foundations on top and it wears like a charm. Personally I am so happy they decided to change the formula so if like me you didn't like the original formula here is your sign to try the new one!

When I use the CC Cream instantly you can see my complexion become even taking away the redness in my cheeks and it offers such amazing coverage I don't use concealer when I have this on. I personally love how easy it is to blend into your skin and depending on whether you use a brush or sponge you can build coverage or lighten the coverage depending on preference. Since I have oily/ combo skin type this matte oil-free formula is so much more long lasting on my complexion and doesn't move or fade during the day which I love the most. It's so easy to work with and I love how fresh and smooth it leaves my skin looking.

Since I have been looking at a lot of base products to make my makeup last longer I decided to try a product out that I have seen a lot of bloggers and vloggers try out. Today we are chatting about the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer( 45ml ) £29.00. In the blog posts and videos I have seen about this primer so many people have said it is amazing to keep your makeup in place and keep your skin hydrated. I have had this primer a few weeks now and honestly have mixed reviews with this product. But before we get into that let's chat about the claims this primer has.

This green tinted primer has ingredients designed to moisturise and smooth your skin while locking your makeup in place. Unlike other primers this formula has a all-day hold to keep all face base products in place without fading, budging or creasing. It also gives your skin a healthy glow and lasts up to 12 hours. Just allow the formula one minute to fully absorb to activate full grip effect and then apply your make up as normal to create a flawless and long-lasting make up look.

To use the primer simply pump 1-2 shot(s) of primer on the back of your hand. Blend a thin layer onto clean skin before make up application. Allow formula one minute to fully absorb to activate grip for all-day hold. This instruction is so important to pay attention to because the 1st time I used this primer I hated it, it made my makeup cake after 30 mins, my usual favourites didn't look as good as they usually do and I was honestly really disappointed.

After that experience I didn't use it for a little while because I was annoyed however I decided to give it another chance and this time I read the sites info about the product and realised I didn't wait a minute for the product to set the first time. So this time I decided to wait the recommended 1 minute before applying anything on top and my god did it make a difference. Suddenly my foundation looked 10x better, the powder products I was applying on top looked amazing and it was finally giving me the finish everyone was talking about. Better yet my makeup really did last all day.

I'm happy I gave this product another chance because I was really annoyed it didn't work as well the first time however I would point out that I've tried this primer following the steps with various foundations and it's pretty obvious it works better with some then others on my skin. With lighter formula's I feel like the primer looks better on my skin but with more full coverage foundations it doesn't look as smooth. Maybe it's me but it's happened a few times so it's worth mentioning on here. I think if you're going to try this foundation get the small travel size one because I personally wish I had instead. I recently went back to TK MAXX and spotted another bargain and it was a product I didn't even know existed. Today we are chatting about the Huda Beauty Matte Perfection Pre-Makeup Base , £26.00. Now before we get into details I don't know if this is a old product or a new one but it's new for me!

This mattifying primer is no ordinary primer from it's gorgeous packaging to rare ingredients. To make this primer mattifying it has milk of magnesia in the formula which it is a liquid laxative known for its milky, powdery formula and keeping your complexion matte for longer. The Perfection Pre-Makeup base has major oil control qualities which giving you the perfect smooth base for makeup application. If that wasn't enough to make you love this primer it also minimises the appearance of pores, fine lines and uneven texture.

When i first applied the primer I was surprised it was a silicone formula but once I rubbed in the product it looked more like a cream which was gorgeous! Once applied on my skin I could see the shine and oiliness from my complexion disappear, it's honestly crazy but I loved it. Out of all the primers I have tried with the Huda Beauty foundations this one works the best with the foundation by far which makes sense they are designed to compliment each other. I have also tried this primer with other foundations and find it works just as well and gives my face a tacky base for my foundation to hold on to longer.

Recently I got some new makeup brushes for xmas that I am obsessed with! These funky unicorn makeup brushes not only have a unicorn horn as a handle but the brush itself is a colour mixture of pink and white together. 

Lately I’ve really started getting into makeup brushes more and more because I find thicker makeup brushes work a lot better for me since I’ve been wearing a lot of full coverage matte foundations. Using brushes like these with full coverage foundations still gives you amazing coverage but it helps blend the product more evenly and easily around the face. After testing out a lot of foundations it’s very clear that certain brushes compliment certain formulas more. Though that being said I’ve never really got on with thin brushes because it just takes too long to apply and I get bored lol.

A christmas gifting miracle!!

As I’ve mentioned before (I think) Charlotte Tilbury have launched their christmas 2020 collection and in this range they have included skincare, limited edition makeup and makeup tools. Now I get so excited about seeing this range every year and this year they have included something I have wanted for SO DAMN LONG!! This year they have brought out a mini Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette for £25.00. This is a product I’ve wanted for so long but I didn’t want to pay £50.00 for 2 products even by my standard that’s a little much for just face products if it was a mix of products then I could justify it. BUT this year they brought a mini and I finally got!!

This mini Filmstar palette comes in the shade light to medium (which references to the bronzer/ contour shade) and the highlight is a the same in all palettes a gorgeous champagne gold shade. This palette is completely perfect for someone as fair as me because the bronzer has a really light pigment so you can easily build it up on your face to give you that perfect snatched look. The highlighter is gorgeous and again really suits my fair skin and isn’t dark at all, again its that buildable formula so you could have a real sutble highlight or if you’re like myself you can pack that shine until you’re a glazed doughnut. Considering the palette is mini when you see it in the photos you can plenty of product and what i love most about the bronzer shade its definitely a cool toned bronzer instead of the warm toned bronzers tilbury has in other ranges. I’m also really excited that this is the first powder highlight from charlotte tilbury i now own, usually i use the liquid highlighters but I’m so happy I now have a powder one to my name.

I get so excited when brands do mini products in their christmas ranges because the prices are always more friendly to those who don’t want to spend loads on product, again like i said if it was a multi product I wouldn’t mind. But this product and size was perfect me and its so easy to throw in your makeup bag when you want something to use on the go.
