Asuka pressed on the glass. There was no chance of anyone seeing him, but even if they did, he was curious about what would happen. âGuilmon,â he said again, âplease. If you can, talk to me. Say something. Anything. Are you still there?â His digimonâs reflection stared back at him, just as lost and confused as he was. Asuka let out a ragged breath. What if he hadnât sent Guilmon away? What if he became a cleaner instead? He still wouldnât use a sapotama, but would it matter? He could have introduced Guilmon to Tomoro. Told him about digimon and that this one was here to protect him. Tomoro needed a family member or someone else to love after all the- everything that was going on back then. The boy had always been so lonely. Why had Asuka robbed him of such a relationship? Ridiculous. There was no way Asuka would have made that decision back then. He was too scared. He was trying to control everything; to hold the world up on his back and his back alone. He just wanted things to be normal. âNormal,â he scoffed at his reflection, âright.â
