It was day two of testing at Shanghai today! The girls all ran for about four hours, and with the available data, this is how it lined up. A couple of key takeaways right off the bat, Rachel Roberston (Hi-tech, R) was not classified today and did not participate in the session. Without proper reports, we don't know why, but we hope she will be there tomorrow. The lowest lap count is much higher than yesterday at 24 laps (Gademan) and the ever-so-secret Driver 19 completed the most laps at 54.

F1 Academy Silverstone Testing Day 2 Report and Analysis
On the second and final testing on Silverstone, the girls had the track in mixed conditions after bidding goodbye to the guests from Girls on Track UK, and multiple student groups from the two days prior. Alisha Palmowski topped the times in both sessions, but comparitively was behind Ella Lloyd's top time from the day prior by .377 seconds, slim margins.
In the morning, early showers made for a wet track. With Palmowski, Lloyd and rookie Megan Bruce all claiming the top three in the morning.
Alba Larsen went 4th, with rookies Rachel Robertson, Payton Westcott, Ella Stevens and Lisa Billard all in line behind her. Championship leader Emma Felbermayr recovered after missing out on the top ten in Monday's morning session to go 9th, with Ava Dobson rounding out the top ten.
Afternoon rolled around with Alisha Palmowski beating her morning time to go 2:01.945, with her Campos teammate Megan Bruce behind her in P2 and the current top rookie Payton Westcott in P3.
Ella Lloyd, Emma Felbermayr, and Ava Dobson were right behind. Rachel Robertson from Mathilda Paatz in her highest result of the Silverstone test in 8th, followed by Nina Gademan and Alba Larsen rounding out the top ten, while the bottom 7 or 8 drivers are left up to mystery
Most clearly we can see the need for experience on this track. Despite weaker results in China, Megan Bruce is dialed in for Silverstone with three top four appearances across the two days of testing and high quality performances in GB4 with lots of Silverstone testing experience.
The rookie battle is consistently fascinating even with little data from the test itself, and it will be interesting to see what going to Montreal in a couple weeks will be like for the rookies and for the greater championship. Felbermayr, while struggling at Silverstone, was the standout star of Montreal in 2025 and going back to this familiar track may help her pull out ahead of her competition before Silverstone savants Ella Lloyd and Alisha Palmowski can make real championship challenges.
All really kicks off once again in Montreal, Canada for the 2nd round of the F1 Academy championship on May 22-24. And like last year there will be 3 races to enjoy across the weekend and plenty of action to prepare for
F1 Academy Silverstone Testing Day 1 Report and Analysis
F1 Academy have finished their first day on track of the Silverstone in-season test. They collaborated with Girls on Track UK, Discover Your Drive, and local schools and businesses to educate people and women on motorsport and STEM off track, while on track Ella Lloyd reigned, putting in a 2:01.568 over both sessions.
Lloyd topped the morning, with fellow 2nd-year Alisha Palmowski just 0.023s behind, Gatorade's Lisa Billard rounded out the morning top 3.
Rachel Robertson then Payton Westcott made up 4th and 5th, with Alba Larsen and Nina Gademan - MP teammates - in 6th and 7th, and Emma Felbermayr, the current leader, in 8th. Ava Dobson and Ella Stevens rounded out the morning top ten.
The current top rookie, Payton Westcott did a 2:01.779 in the afternoon session to head to the top, followed by Alisha Palmowski only 9 thousandths back. overall fastest Ella Lloyd was 3rd then Tag Heur's Megan Bruce making up the top four only separated by 2 tenths
Lisa Billard and Alba Larsen were 5th and 6th. Ella Stevens, Rafaela Ferreira and Ava Dobson were 7-9 and Esmee Kosterman took 10th after a tricky debut in China.
No comprehensive list is available as of yet of overall best lap times. Initial perspectives show that experience at Silverstone is key, with many of the top 10 in both sessions having raced there many times and no UK drivers out of the top ten at any point in the sessions. This track is brand new to the F1 Academy calendar and will be many girl's first time racing the iconic circuit come July 3rd for their 3rd round.
The rookie battle seems to be heating up. Payton Westcott dominated after China, but Lisa Billard, despite no testing or racing in Silverstone, is in her orbit after both sessions. Also the drivers championship is alive and well as seasoned Silverstone racers and preseason favorites Ella Lloyd and Alisha Palmowski dominate the timing tower, with championship leader Emma Felbermayr is struggling to find her footing on track.
There is one more day of testing tomorrow, girls start on track at 9:00am BST, with 5 hours of running and many opportunities for growth available for the drivers.
