The first F16s, a shipment of 18 from the Dutch, are imminently due in Ukraine, with dozens more to follow.
Let's see if this breaks the deadlock on land (Ukraine has already been gloriously victorious at sea this year).

Goddamn it.
Delivery of Danish F-16s to Ukraine delayed by six months due to lack of infrastructure and trained pilots.
Berlingske, the Danish newspaper, citing the Ministry of Defence of the country, reports that the delivery of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine b
Sure would be nice if we hadn't dragged our heels so long to begin with, even if I understand some of the reasons why.
Ukraine holding off the Kremlin has it has is a miracle. Don't piss it away.

An update on the plans being implemented to train Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets. 🇺🇦🛩️🇷🇴💙💛🇳🇱🛩️🇺🇦
#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost . . . Five F-16 fighter jets are on their way to a training center for Ukrainian pilots in Romania, the Dutch Defense Ministry announced on Nov. 7.
The Netherlands would provide 12-18 F-16s for training purposes, but the jets will remain Dutch property and will only be flown in NATO territory, the statement said.
The ceremonial opening of the training center is forthcoming.
The announcement comes after Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Oct. 30 that the F-16s would arrive at the training site in two weeks.
The training of Ukrainian pilots began in Denmark this August in partnership with other nations of the "fighter jet coalition." Washington later announced that it would launch its own training sessions for Ukrainian aviators in October.
The training coalition was originally formed in July with the purpose of using resources and facilities from Ukraine's allies to help train Ukrainian pilots.
Although the pace of F-16 procurement and training has picked up, it's estimated that the first Ukrainian pilots to undergo F-16 jet fighter training will not be ready to fly them until summer 2024.

It looks like Ukrainian pilots will begin to fly F-16 fighter jets in combat in the spring of 2024. 🇺🇦🛩️💙💛🛩️🇺🇦
#Repost @kyivindependent _official with @use.repost . . . The first group of Ukrainian pilots are almost ready to move from F-16 flight simulators to combat planes, Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat said in a televised address on Oct. 22, Ukrinform reported.
"We expect that the first group of F-16 pilots, who are already training on flight simulators today, will transfer to the cockpit of a training and combat aircraft in the near future,” Ihnat said.
The pilots “did their homework” and quickly mastered the training program, the spokesperson noted.
Instructors will initially accompany the pilots before they embark on their own independent flights.
The first flights with instructors could begin in a few weeks, Ihnat said on Oct. 12.
Ukrainians will train on real F-16s at centers in Romania and the U.S. but are unlikely to use the aircraft on the battlefield before next spring, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Oct. 11.
The Netherlands and Denmark are leading the allied efforts to provide Ukraine with the fourth-generation American jets.
Amsterdam announced last week that it will send over a dozen F-16 jets to the training center in Romania so that Ukrainian pilots can begin training on the aircraft within weeks.
The Dutch and Danish efforts are part of a broader "fighter jet coalition" to provide training for Ukrainian pilots and technical staff.
Washington will also play a leading role in the coalition.
Denmark said it will provide 19 F-16 fighter jets, the Netherlands promised 42, and Norway has pledged up to 10.
Belgium announced it will deliver jets from 2025, but has not disclosed how many.

Ukrainian pilots will begin training on F-16s in Romania soon. 🇺🇦🇳🇱💙💛🇷🇴🇺🇦
#Repost@kyivindependent_official with @use.repost . . . The Netherlands is set to send over a dozen F-16 jets to a training center in Romania so that Ukrainian pilots can begin training on the aircraft within weeks, Dutch Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said on Oct. 11.
"We hope to transfer twelve to eighteen aircraft to Romania within a few weeks, which means the center can start operating," Ollongren said while speaking to the press at the NATO defense ministers meeting in Brussels.
The preparations to set up the training center are "going very well," she added.
In August, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine is to receive 42 F-16s from the Netherlands after reaching an agreement with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
The Netherlands and Denmark are leading the allied efforts to provide Ukraine with the fourth-generation American jets.
Also at the meeting in Brussels on Oct. 11 was Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, who said that Denmark expects to deliver the first F-16s to Ukraine in March or April of 2024.
Denmark has pledged to provide 19 of its aircraft to bolster the Ukrainian Air Force.
The Dutch and Danish efforts are part of a broader "fighter jet coalition" to provide training for Ukrainian pilots and technical staff.
The coalition was officially established in July and involves over a dozen countries.
On Oct. 9, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Denmark is working to "expand and deepen" the coalition of countries willing to provide Ukraine with F-16 aircraft.
