some glorious japanese fan has created a whole blog documenting the evolution of F1 drivers’ signatures over the years. a useful resource to avoid getting fleeced on eBay or if you just wanna see a driver’s signature slowly die from “teenager excited to sign anything” to “I have signed this 8,000 times please let me leave”
Know of any website that does live updates of the race minute by minute?
I used to follow it on F1, but you have to sign up for F1 Unlocked now. Which I haven't bothered to do yet.
Here are some other options:
crash.net
The Guardian (here is their Saudi GP live blog for reference)
Sky Sports
Auto Sport
So you want to start learning about the technical side of F1?
Where do you start?
Well here I guess.
This has been something in the works for some time; I’ve had a few messages about people asking for recommendations and thought that I would compile everything into one document. I’ve tried to provide links where I can as well.
This graphic from @/f1visualized shows how close the championship is this year, even compared to close years like 2017/18
This is a representation of the points gap for each season with 4 races to go, 2011 is gold because the championship had already been sealed at that point and the red line is the points gap at which it’s statistically impossible for the second placed driver to win

I’ve been asked a few times about other f1 resources and I’ve mentioned about F1Visualized before and now I want to shine a light on 107percentF1
They create absolutely beautiful graphics like this one, which are so easy to understand
do you have any book recommendations about f1? biographies or books about stats/mechanics etc - both would be good! :)
I have a post here that has some of my recommendations for books, but in general the ones I will recommend are Adrian Newey’s ‘How to Build a Car”, Marc Priestley’s ‘The Mechanic - The Secret World of the F1 Pitlane’
There’s also a few ex-drivers who have their own books, I know Jenson Button has two ‘Life on the Limit’ and ‘How to be an F1 driver’ but there’s a lot out there
Also I can’t remember it’s name but Ross Brawn has a great book. Edit: ‘Total Competition’
I don’t know if they still make them currently but I know there used to be a series called ‘Formula 1 Technical Analysis’ it might have changed to ‘F1 Technical Insights’ but they have incredible drawings of the cars and their features, if you search ‘Giorgio Piola F1’ you can see the sorts of drawings that are in these books.
