Stares blankly towards Edward’s general direction, completely unimpressed ( and very much unamused ). 

Slowly      flatly --

It’s true, they’ve had their fair share of squabbles; all of them, admittedly, being due to his own tomfoolery and, again, all of them ending with him flat on his back with one injury or another. Yet today, for some reason, they find themselves in something akin to a truce, or at the very least, he hasn’t gotten friendly with the ground just yet.

The thing is – and what an awkward position it is to be in – the truce involves him receiving and, following usual sequences, accepting a DONUT. Oh, it doesn’t sound like much, but to a man that naturally cringes at anything sugary, it’s a BOLD decision he must make. Should he take the donut or should he dare to decline it with the possibility of her performing a headlock on him?

“Uh – ” 

He eyes the donut with what he hopes isn’t apprehension, but the realization that the donut is most likely homemade doesn’t help him in his decision at all. There’s even powdered sugar on it. 

It’s just too much.

So with one move, he grabs it and stuffs it into his mouth, cheeks puffing in mimicry of a HAMSTER’S, and gives her a ( rather gross and donut-filled ) smile.

Oh no, not this again. It’s like some horrible B-rated SyFy movie: The Return of the Fern.

People always say that your heart skips a beatwhenever you encounter your soulmate. They failto mention that it does the SAME and then SOMEwhen somebody with the forces of nature at theirbeck and call oh so accidentally ELECTROCUTES you.

The Mun’s Interpretation ; Send one in!

Hmm, the series isn’t super fresh in my mind ( i know, i’m a horrible mun ), so I don’t have anything specific to nitpick at, but I think that, personally, I feel as if there are some inconsistencies to Roy’s character. Mind you, not inconsistencies in terms of how people are going to naturally contradict themselves, but it sometimes seems as if Roy alternates too much from being presented in a serious light to being comic relief. Yes, I know that that’s usually how most mangas/animes work and that all of the FMA characters go through this, but it gets a bit confusing and I feel that all the humor paints Roy as an incompetent character to some, which greatly infuriates me. it’s like for every item he gets right, ten other things go wrong and g u h

Okay, so this is my own mun bias, but I would prefer it if Roy was shown to be a bit – I’m not sure how to properly describe it – more serious (maybe relentless?? idk that sounds a bit too strong ), if that makes sense? Yes, he’s a human being with complex feelings and multiple layers to him, but at the same time, it takes a certain type of person to go after what he wants and it kinda feels like the series goes into it, but doesn’t let that aspect reach completion. He is, truly, a good man, but he isn’t naive, nor is he the sort to idle about. To me, Roy is the type of person that would have Plan A - Z and then Plan A1 - Z#, if you feel me – he is capable. He pushes, he pulls, he does what it takes to do what he needs to do ( within his definitions of morality, of course ). 

I love that the series depicts him as a person with faults, but at the same time, I wish it was more consistent, rather than having him be the “great leader that’s incompetent, but not really, but he pretends to be, so let’s all yell at him because he can’t seem to get things right. all of war is deceit haha.” I just feel that, for every moment he has that makes you step back and think ‘that’s the man who wants to be fuhrer. that’s the man who wants to change things,’ there are two or three moments that make it easy to forget just how determined and focused he truly is. I mean, it’s likely that I’m also mixing in fanon interpretation into this as well, but y’know, I just wished Roy had more defining moments that showed us the man that wants to change the country for the better, the man who’s been through shit, but keeps on pushing because he may be battered, but he’s not broken. 

And he’s certainly not useless. Please. Don’t. Get. Me. Started.
