It wasn't often that Morganaux found himself willingly venturing into the Twelveswood, but he needed ethers, and not just any ordinary ones would do. These ones were meant to be a gift, and he intended to make every single one of them by hand to make certain that they would be of the finest quality for the occasion— and to do so, he needed freshly-picked tinolqa mistletoe, and plenty of it.

But Warrior of Light or not, he could not help but feel uneasy traversing this part of Eorzea, knowing how Duskwights were often thought of there. And so, he had arrived here quietly, features hidden beneath an old cloak of dusty rose and gold.

It did not take long for him to find the mistletoe he was looking for, a veritable bounty of it growing upon a high bough of a massive tree towering over a river. Though, just as he was about to make his ascent up its trunk, Morganaux's ears perked up at the sound of rustling footsteps behind him, and gasping, the Elezen turned back to ascertain its source.

Morganaux comes off as rather prudish, finding innuendos and other sexual topics of conversation to be inappropriate. He isn't one to judge others for being open about sexual matters, but he would rather not participate in or have to hear about anything of that nature. It's partially the TMI factor and partially that it's considered unacceptable in Ishgardian high society to speak in such a way.

If a conversation starts getting too risqué for him, he's going to find a way to change the subject, and if that doesn't work, he'll politely excuse himself. Behind closed doors with a trusted partner is a different story, however.

temperance - 3. What is your OC's attitude to alcohol? Do they enjoy and occasional (or very frequent) drink? Or do they look down upon inebriation?

For the most part, alcohol is almost entirely off the table for him. He might have a few sips socially while attending High House festivities if he feels he has to, but he tries to avoid it as much as he possibly can. In addition to hating the taste of it, he finds the idea of not having perfect control of his mental faculties to be terrifying.

Due to past uncomfortable experiences, he tends to avoid being in the presence of anyone who's drunk unless it's absolutely necessary, and even then, he's going to be looking to get out of the situation as quickly as possible.

Since Saahe’s attraction only even begins to manifest after he’s established an emotional connection with someone, and with him doing that very, very rarely, the sample pool of what manner of individuals he’s even had the potential to be attracted to is depressingly small.

But of the few of the few he did come to find attractive, a common theme has been “muscular”. Not to any exaggerated extent, but rather as a simple indication of clear physical strength.

4. In developing their backstory, what elements of the world they live in played the most influential parts?

When I first started developing Morganaux into a full-fledged character, I wanted him to be a love letter to all my favorite parts of Ishgard, like the Heavens' Ward, the Scholasticate quests, and House Dzemael, so all of those played a huge part in making him who he is now. The starting points for building his character were:

Orphan granted a scholarship to study at Saint Endalim's

Someone who can get along well with Noudenet

Romantically involved with Grinnaux and unfortunately exposed to the rest of the Dzemaels because of it.

That last point didn't really stick for a variety of reasons, but his involvement with the family was too much fun to pass up, and I found a different way to make it happen! It's given him a lot of depth, making him into quite the cunning individual beneath his friendly exterior— sort of like Tarresson de Dzemael, in a way.

Other influential elements include the ACN quests and the Sharlayan lore we got from the AST quests!

12. What have you found to be most difficult about creating art for your OC (any form of art: writing, drawing, edits, etc.)?

Answering for WoL!Morgy! I might end up going back and doing these for Phoebus later on too, maybe.

D - Director - How much do they feel the need to have control over their life? Do they spend a lot of time telling others what to do or and they more likely to be more obedient to others?

Morganaux has an intense need to have control over his own life stemming from his experiences of being controlled throughout his childhood. Back then, he had to deal with the Scholasticate's strict rules, the high level of routine and surveillance during his short time as an expurgator, and the confusing etiquette of highborn society when he was taken in by House Dzemael.

He wants to be free to go where he pleases and do what he wants, but at the same time, he has a strict set of rules that he imposes upon himself so that he can appear likable, yet unapproachable. So, he's not really as free as he likes to think he is.

He’s fine with following others’ instructions so long as it makes sense and he’s being treated respectfully. There was a point in time where he was obedient without question, especially when it came to anything relating to Halonic doctrine, but these days, he’s a bit more comfortable questioning things and politely speaking up if he feels he has a better way of doing something.

(...Though, he’ll be rude or feign ignorance if he’s really upset with something he’s been ordered to do. Sometimes there’s moments where he’s gotta pop off, just a little bit.)

He tries to avoid telling others what to do, but makes an exception when it comes to safety and medical advice. In that case, he won’t just stop at telling you not to do something and may end up taking matters into his own hands.
