( you’re all so very kind and supportive, and it means a lot to me. thank you! i was thinkin’ i’d try and get my ford started up proper this weekend. might review his episodes and stuff again, too, to refresh his voice in my brain.

Although Bruce tended to not favor strangers shouting at him-- was this stranger shouting, or merely unaware of their tone?-- the semi-terrestrial sea beast couldn’t be offended by an innocent question about his kin. Reef fish, or at least those brave enough to approach him, did so all the time. 

And this... floating-- hovering?-- sort of triangular creature didn’t appear to be at all violent or menacing.

In spite of everything, there were things about their alliance with Bill that Stanford genuinely missed. The way the two of them talked about their big important plans, like they mattered ... it had meant the world to Ford at the time. But it was nothing. Trickery and lies, all designed to get in their head and puff up their ego enough that they’d trust a creature like Bill.
