HEADCANON: Because Nigel is the living embodiment of Wikipedia, who loves telling random facts. Debbie knows how to make alcohol from fruit and knows what plants can get you high. Which of course, she does make alcohol with a huge jar and random fruit she can get her hands on. When she doesn't have to watch Donnie, she'll get a little tipsy or high since she knows she'll have plenty of time to sober up since they normally don't come home until late at night. It's one unhealthy way too deal w her untreated mental illness / just nice too chill and get high.

ooc;; sorry I've been gone, I been dog sitting, which I'm abt to have another job tomorrow. So idk how active I'll be, but have this headcanon I been thinking abt off n on lol
HEADCANON: After what happened in EP33 S:2 - A Shaky Foundation- when Tom Ravenhurst ( son of the Foundation's head ) failed to help them improve Nigel's Thornberry's Animal World TV show, he was still determined- for whatever reason he still wanted to try and 'help' them. Despite them not needing it, if he couldn't get in on the action he'd try another angle- by selling merchandise. Nigel Thornberry's survival kits, camera bags, but it's mostly just his face stamped on miscellaneous items, anything Tom Ravenhurst could think of.
He even made a fanclub, of course, there had already been one by the fans of his show. But he claims his is the real official website. Nigel and Mariann are no stranger to fans coming up to them. But he's had a few obsessed fans- once someon snipped a piece of his hair and sold it online.
He gets a lot of fanmail, but because they hardly stay in one place for more than a few weeks / maybe a month, it's hard for him to get it, let alone have time to read them. Debbie takes it upon herself to read the ones they get, it's mostly stuff she finds corny ( despite acting the same way with bands she loves. ) There's one fan who writes them the most, she's got all of his merchandise, records every episode on her VCR. Sends letters with her face or her pets, talks to him like they are lovers. Writes poems / fanfiction about them or what animal they should film next. Keeps a corkboard of all the places he's been.

Debbie finds it kind of weird, but doesn't mention it to her parents because why worry them with some weirdo fan who seems out of touch with reality.

ooc;; because I headcanon that Debbie takes pole dancing classes in college, which lead to her getting a job at this hole-in-wall club. She hates people who degrade the art of pole dancing and think it's slutty or not hard to do, when it takes so much practice / muscle to pull off the dancing. It's art, it's beautiful and deserves to be treated with respect.

When she was little, back with her parents and living at her grandparents house, she struggled to make / keep friends. Sure the girls in her class loved that she was good at doing their hair or nails and the boys loved all the bug facts. But no one really liked her, she was always that weird girl who talked to much and didn't understand personal space.
There was a time she mistook this girl being kind to her, thinking they were friends. So she followed the girl and her friends around like a lost puppy, never really interacting with the conversations, just kind of on the outskirts of them. Until one of them went up to Debbie one day and said it was creepy that she was always following them around and to stop it. She did, never even talking to them again. Which it hurt, it hurt very badly- since she thought they had been friends. Of course, now that she's older she realizes that it was probably creepy and she understands why they did it but it doesn't stop it from hurting / also just very embarrassing because she was so oblivious even when there had been clear signs ( which had to be pointed out to her, ) which make her feel even more like a weirdo.
