Making of Project M
After doing my quick cosplay of Mare I’ve wanted to try and do Madpat. So I started planning and gathering supplies. My sister was my photographer this time for all the main pictures.

Main Madpat costume: I got some bear ears from Spirit Halloween and cut them up. Then covered them with fake blood and black eyeshadow. The hat(which I realized in post was on the wrong side) was made by sister using black felt, hot glue, a Poptarts box, and some bobby pins & thread to keep it on my head. She wouldn’t let me cut it up. I was originally gonna use my dad’s tree trimmer/chainsaw-looking thing as a prop but couldnt find it. So I had to improvise with my sister’s clay scalpel and one of my dads knives. The shirt was one I got form Hobby Lobby that I cut holes in, set on fire(safely), and covered in eyeshadow and fake blood.
The Ears and hat:
Scientist Madpat costume: The labcoat and goggles were actually left over from my Halloween costume from last year that was “Mad science experiement gone wrong” And still had the same damage as last year as I never washed them. The goggles were originally from a steampunk costume I did 3/4 years ago. The syringe pens were ones I had bought from Spirit both this year and previous years. The vials were my sisters that I just filled with fake blood I made from corn syrup and food coloring.

The Makeup: The makeup actually took weeks of practice and reordering supplies to get right. I spent quite a few nights practicing my burn technique and figuring out how to block my eyebrow out. For the burns I followed Glam and Gore’s tutorial and for the eyebrow blocking I followed Madyewlook’s tutorial. All of it was done using cotton and liquid latex. The wounds just being basic one. I also glued a couple of the scraps I cut off the ears to my face and neck to sort of show where the bear suit had been. Some of the body painting I did, didn’t even show up on camera unfortunately. As well as I went a little overboard on the neck wounds. In total the makeup took approximately 3/4 hours with breaks. Additionally it took about 15/20 minutes for me to wash it all off after I removed the prosthetics.
I even did a Tiktok of me practicing the claw marks on my face.
