This was it. Sherry didnโt think it would be this painful, but she was in labour and this was the one her doctor was telling her about and the one she had been readingโthree minutes apart, lasting for a minute or more, and unbearable. Tears were falling from her eyes as she held on to Chancelitโs hand, trying to focus and tell herself that she was above the pain and that soon their babyโs going to come out.
She was breathing deeply now, like she practised in classes, and soon, the contractions were over, her head falling on the pillow as she panted softly, her grip on her husbandโs hand not as tight as it was previously.
"Hurts more than a bullet in the shoulder." she remarked, out of breath, just before she turned to look at him.
