Don’t Turn a Blind Eye! ・・・ WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT // Would you rather see a photograph of a living primate, or one being cooked for human consumption? WARNING: This post contains sensitive subject matter. Do not scroll unless you are ready to see the reality of a wildlife market. #Repost from conservation #wildographydudette, writer & co-founder of @sealegacy @mitty. “I normally post beautiful and inspiring photographs, but the truth is that sometimes we need to look right at the ugly face of an issue in order to solve it. This pandemic didn't come out of thin air; humans created it with our appetite for animal flesh and false cures. This virus jumped from a small market onto the global stage, because humans take animals from the wild and crowd them together into tight spaces with other wild creatures, domestic animals, and people. It does not matter which country it came from; wildlife markets exist all over the world, from many countries in Asia, South America and Africa and even in the United States and Europe and everywhere they exist they are a testament to human short-sightedness and cruelty. If we want to stop the next pandemic from ever happening, we need to start at the source, by supporting legislation that bans wildlife trade completely.
