This part of my development is in a conservation area so I had to obtain planning permission for the replacement of 2 windows where the timber had rotted after so many years.
Planning was declined for mock timber PVC-u as the local Heritage Officer felt quite strongly about the proposition so an appeal was decided against.
This would normally mean we would have to make a second application for timber framed windows but that has been granted without having to do so, it came with conditions. The windows have to be engineered hardwood timber framed with a factory-applied micro-porous paint finish.
It took a while to find 2 companies that actually do this so I'm currently in the process of obtaining quotes, along with insurance quotes for the damage caused by the attempted break-in, extra security lighting, cctv update, to fix a Velux window, anti-slip and highlighting of manhole covers and drain chambers, external redecs and after the weekend I can add tree surgery to that!
I've listened to the residents, their concerns and ideas and I'm working with them and the budget of course to ensure Cherchefelle Mews is a safe and secure place for them to live and spend many more happy years โค ๐ก๐ก๐กโค
Oh, let's not forget the f-ing hose pipe which is the bane of my life every summer! I have ordered, after going through so many lightweight ones (a load of shit), one that automatically reels itself back in as the residents can't manage to wind the manual one up. I hope it doesn't take them with it ๐คญ
