Just last week I celebrated the first anniversary of my 40th birthday. As much as I love a good party, I feel like the older I get the less I care about throwing myself birthday parties. I went all out for my 40th by celebrating with a bunch of friends, but I feel like 40 is one of those "milestone birthdays", which are the exception to the no party rule. Anyway, this year I stayed home and enjoyed an entire small birthday cake to myself. Do you prefer going all out and throwing big parties for your birthday or do you like to keep things more lowkey? @exposedfmstart

I was scrolling through YouTube and found a video listing 30 snacks that have been discontinued over the years. Not sure why I thought turning this on as background noise would be a good idea, but now I'm sat in front of the tv wishing I could find a time machine to take me back to taste some of these snacks. If you could bring back one discontinued snack from the history of the world, what would it be? For me, it's gotta be those Philadelphia cheesecake bars. Completely forgot about their existence until now, but I'm gonna be bitter until someone brings them back. @exposedfmstart

I don’t know what I have seen. And how to get it out of my head. I was only looking for a photo that I was going to send to someone and found some photos of me that I couldn't remember. I clicked on them because I was wondering where they were from when I realized they were photoshopped. I mean, I have seen photoshopped photos before but they weren't good quality whereas these were. Anyway...they were for fanfics. Me, being all innocent, thought how bad out it be. And I don’t mean bad as in terrible. What have I read? I mean…I have worked with these people that were mentioned in the fanfiction and I rather not be thinking about what was in the fanfiction next time I see them. Two I have worked quite closely with. And I am still really close to now. Is there anything you have seen and wished you hadn't?

Since the boys missed out on the little Malibu getaway, I decided to take them on a surprise trip to South Africa to visit our family here. There's nothing like seeing them get so excited when they spot one of their favorite animals while we're out on a safari. Anaca is obsessed with lions while Ariel cares more about the monkeys than anything else. There's nothing like watching your children have the same childhood adventures that you once had in the same place where you grew up. @exposedfmstart

Tell me about your summer. Did you get to do all of the things you planned to do, or did you do something unexpected? I think a lot of movies came out this season, too. See any of those? I need to watch them as soon as they become available to rent at home. @exposedfmstart

Should I have brought my guitar? I feel like bonfires usually call for some kind of acoustic ambience. Eh, it's fine. I'm on a break from touring, so I should probably allow myself to relax and not think about performing. I hate that summer is almost over. I don't think I went swimming as much as I wanted to this season. @exposedfmstart

I've been planted in front of my television for the past few days watching some of these Olympic sports and there are some that I'm convinced I'd be alright at. Definitely not the gymnastics, as I have no upper body strength and I don't have an ounce of grace in my body like those gymnasts do. I feel like I could easily pick up water polo because, how hard could it actually be? Are there any Olympic sports you're convinced you'd be good at if you gave it a shot? @exposedfmstart
