Still trying to figure out why black and red is a strong interest of mine? Still finding myself stuck with the two colors? Looking up the representation of the colors took me on a journey through my past life of darkness and bloody scene which could naturally form in me to come out through my artworks. Red means many things - blood or the red dye we use to print our patterns on tapa cloth in the pacific and black is well known for the darkness, royal or death. This is strong in my work. It questions many things in why we only have white walls and not black but why black and not other colors. This got me to search more in depth into the history or the acceptances of the white wall which says something about reflecting light around the space but do we need light reflecting in the space if the spaces in the room are all different and so is our artworks. I donβt know! More interesting to know what it would be like if the white walls were black? Would our works be different because of the surrounding colors.Β Β
