Golden Byron ✨ ••• After Christmas, we drove down to Byron Bay via the Scenic Rim for 24 hours. We were reminded again of just how lucky we are to have the sun, surf and sand right at our doorsteps. The crowds of families, backpackers and beach goers are testament to the attraction of the area, but also a stark reminder of how excessive tourism can damage the environment and the homes of locals who have lived there for years. ••• With a beautiful lighthouse gracing the most easterly point of the Australian mainland, wishing for an uncrowded sunrise or sunset is impossible. But that’s okay - because it means that other people in the world appreciate the beauty of the rising and the setting of the sun.
