This sick heart will be sent to pathology and analyzed to see exactly what was wrong with it. Just looking at this heart I see that it is HUGE which is what we call cardiomegaly. The heart is STILL beating!!! This patient would have died soon with a heart like this. Because of the generosity of organ donation, this patient now has a chance to have a whole new life.
