I’ll take this as you actually wanting to know my stance and not just sending anon hate.
Yes, incest is a theme in ASOIAF, F&B, and HotD. It is a subject repeatedly brought up with multiple characters interacting with. When I was first getting into the fandom I was hung up on the incest finding it excessive and gross especially with how much it’s brought up. But, you need to see the incest as more of a sign of corruption and relation to old Valyria. When characters engage in incest, they draw parallels to past Targaryens, such as Cersei comparing her relationship with Jamie to the Targaryens. Incest is still taboo in the story but Targaryens are the exception showing us how they place themselves above all others.
With all of that being said, it’s normal and expected for this fandom to have popular ships which feature incest became 1. Every fandom has popular incest ships because nothing is off limits in fandom and 2. Those incest relationships are in the show. Incest is a part of the Targaryen family and you can’t avoid it in HotD because there is so much of it.
That being said, am I specifically into incest? No. Do I actively ship incest relationships? No, I’m not a big shipper. Will I judge someone for shipping incest relationships? No, fandom is a safe space and it’s stupid to try to deny something that’s in the text.
