I'm sorry! dogs name is Baldur
Bruh that’s a sick ass name 😭
So for baby cutie Baldur, what can you do to make it easier for him:
Make everything predictable. Slow things down, and then keep the routine calm and predictable until he’s comfortable to explore. He may just be confused about where he belongs because it’s a huge space and it’s all new. Maybe him getting to know one portion of the house where he can be “know it all” is a good start so then he can venture out in the wilderness but still have a “safe space”.
You feel very safe and comforting to him, like a happy doggo burrito wrapped in blankets is the image I am getting. The change is just distorting it for now, if he is acting a bit different with you. To him, the change is sudden and confusing so his sense of safety is a bit thrown off so he’s leaning on you for stability. You’re his anchor.
But outside of the change, he loves you and sees you as a source of warmth and happiness in his life 😭
How he feels about the house:
It’s like a book he hasn’t read before. He’s still flipping through the pages like “New, confusing…but okay”. He likes certain parts of the house, finds comfort there. So he might like staying more in certain places?
But more than all of that, his sense of the house is strongly tied to you. You’re his emotional anchor. So he trusts you to show him around in a way (?). Constant assurance by you would go a long way as he’s watching and learning what’s safe and normal around the house.
He’s not actively stressed or resisting the house, it aligns with him and he is starting to make sense of it little by little, not fully yet at the end of the book.
Hope this helps, thank you for asking me about Baldur. Give him pets from me 😭♥️ (Also tell me if I am completely off and he’s the most adventurous doggo to ever doggo)
