Plot: You and sehun used to date but he broke up with you to debut in exo. In the end it turned out he still liked you but you have a fiancée
The question rung through your ears. Your mind went far. Your body went stiff.
Your reaction had caused the air to go stiff and the man proposing started to get worried and so did both your family. You looked into the eyes of the man that was proposing to you and the hope in his eyes made your guilt grow so big it started to wrap you in a blanket of guilt.
“why not?” you thought to yourself. He was kind, patient, unselfish and gave you all his love to the max. He had not once hurt you and had always patiently tried to snuggle into your heart so why not?
Your words and your true feelings differed, whilst you said yes, your heart clenched, both for the man and yourself. You knew that you would never truly get over a certain man but as long as the chance was there you were willing to take it, even if it meant hurting the man that loved you with every drop he had.
You knew that this behavior is classified as selfish but you believed that you would start loving him if you were married to him which is why you had agreed.
As you held out your hand the man took the ring out of the perfect red velvet box and slipped the diamond ring onto your finger, so softly and delicately that it felt like air grazing your skin, eventually, the ring reached the base of your finger and the ring finally registered in your mind.
As he stood up to embrace you, the only thoughts that were going through your head were doubts, doubts as to what you’re doing. But like the procrastinator you are, you said that you would deal with it in the future.
You could hear the happiness and clapping of your beloved ones around you but for some reason, you felt it drowning out as you were wondering why on earth were you not at all happy. You looked at the joyful smiles from your relatives and your now Fiancée, but you could not bring yourself up to put a simple sign of happiness on your face.
You got even more lost thinking about those smiles and laughter. You kept sinking deeper and deeper until out of nowhere one nostalgic name came up in your mind. Sehun.
Everyone in the room stared at you. All filled with confusion as to why you were crying out of nowhere with such pain. You were silently hoping they confuse it with tears of happiness but the hidden pain from all those years had come out from its hidden state and they weren’t leaving without a fight.
Seeing your tears flow down your face your now fiancé embraced you even tighter making your tears flow harder. Guilt? That’s what you could feel, not from you but the man that was hugging you and it caused your tears to silence.
Your tear stained face remained hidden thanks to your fiancé’s shoulders which for some reason felt like you weren’t the only one on it. You stood back and rubbed your tears and without a word, you grabbed your key and phone, then went out and your state made it clear that you didn’t want anyone on your trail.
You went to the nearest convenience store since it was dark outside and going far away was not a good plan. You felt bad for leaving without a word but you needed some space. You went inside the store and went to the liquid aisle to grab an iced coffee and got two pieces of chicken on the way.
You went up to the cash register with a heavy heart and a lost mind. The cashier scanned the drink and calculated the chicken. After the amount showed up you checked your pockets to find your wallet when you realized you forgot it.
It was too embarrassing to go back and get it so you were about to ask to take it back when out of where a stranger tapped his credit card and paid for you.
You were so thankful for the random kindness so you instinctively bowed down to the stranger, but as you looked back up you started to have a war between hating or loving life right now.
You stared into the eyes of Oh Sehun. Was this your imagination? Was your heart this pathetic and weak to have to imagine him here? Does he even still care about you? All those thoughts flooded your head but the first two were answered as you heard him speak.
“Y/N! How have you been?”
His voice was finally not heard from over a radio or television. It was definitely him. He stared at you waiting for a reply, but you were too shocked to be able to. He scanned you and at some point, saw your ring but he was not phased in the slightest. He must be completely over you, you thought as some tears to silently start to make its way up.
He could sense your awkwardness so instead of words he moved his head to the door and looked back at you raising his eyebrows as to signal you to go outside with him. You bit back your tears and followed him as he walked outside to sit on a table.
You both faced each other and it was complete silence for a while until he politely asked you
You looked into those curious eyes and decided maybe this was the day to finally let go of the past. You took a breath and replied
“Nothing much, about to get married”
with such causality that both of you chuckled out of the blue. After the laughter had died down it went tense again and you could hear him taking a deep breath and about to say something
The question sent you shivers down your spine. Why would he have asked such a question? You were confused by the sudden and random question that you had unknowingly answered what he had wanted to hear just by your reaction.
You knew he knew the answer since you swore to god you could see a smirk on him for a second but the question is why did he smirk?!
You stared back into his eyes and for a split second, you saw adoration and love in his eyes. Your life was a mess and you had no idea on where to solve it. You got asked to get married, accepted with no love, not over your first love and now having your first love right in front of you at the blue.
You barked at him in anger as you stood up with clenched fists beside you but no reaction was shown on his face. It was like he was mocking you and it made the tension full of competitiveness except you were on the side of lying about loving someone.
“I have known you for long enough to know you still love me”
He said with a tone of victory. You gave up, why were you lying to yourself?
You sat back down with no emotion on your face. He examined you and had looked guilty.
He had confessed. You just sat there confused about what to do. Your heart started to feel heavy. It was not right to betray your fiancée so you were about to end your past feelings but before you could you heard someone saying
“Accept him, give him another chance”
You turned your head and was face to face with your fiancée. You looked at him in confusion and he had a sad smile on his face.
You could feel the hurt on his pure smile. He started having tears come up but still, there was his smile.
“I know you never had feelings for me, but my greediness wanted to see if there was a chance I could keep you. The proposal was to see if you were willing to accept me and in the end, it looks like I lost.”
So, in the end, none of this was a coincidence. This was all planned.
Out of nowhere, Sehun had hugged you and soon tears started falling on his shoulders.
“Are you willing to give me one more chance?”
