Life on the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer “Executrix” is every bit as riveting as Jyn Erso has always imagined it to be. Standards are just that much higher, seeing as the vessel is the Grand Moffs personal flagship. Only the very best will do for the Governor.

It starts as a joke of sorts. A cute earworm of a song, sung by a performer known for her scandalous performances. She designs the t-shirt herself in a bout of inspiration and delights in the quickly muffled snorts of amusement as she traipses down the halls of her Majesty the Executrix. Dresscodes be damned.

Two weeks later finds her in an elevator, balancing a large stack of data-pads precariously as the doors slide open and none other than Grand Moff Tarkin steps inside. The lights flicker for a moment, almost as if the poor elevator itself cannot believe its luck. It feels cramped suddenly and Jyn swallows reflexively. Tarkin gives her an assessing look as the doors slide shut behind him.
The elevator starts up again, lurching. The stack in her arms teeters. To her surprise the Moff smiles at her and after a moment of thought, starts humming softly.
A tune that she knows all too well these days.
It’s a moment that stretches on as The Grand Moff of the Imperial Forces hums her little ode to sartorial rebellion with a sparkle in his eyes.
No one would believe her anyway.
