What recent accomplishment (folding laundry, completing a project, winning a Nobel Prize, etc) are you the most proud of, and why? (pls be as self-congratulatory as possible since simply existing is hard enough)
I've done a lot of little things in the last week or so that I am very proud of, so I will tell you all of it.
I can be quite a hermit if I let myself and this week, I didn't let myself. I trekked all the way downtown (which I hate) on a train (which I hate more) to go see a show with my favourite group of weird queers and honestly had a really great time. I also messaged a friend I haven't spoken to in a while. It's ended as it always does: I don't remember why I didn't want to do it because it was fine. Even good.
I have finally started tge task I've been putting off (college apps because my uni degree has no value to me). I don't know why I thought it'd be difficult. It isn't. Just expensive... ugh. And now I have to go find strings of numbers I've long forgotten. But it's actually fine, too.
Also, there is a specific part of the OG writing space that I'd been incredibly disillusioned with for years. I have returned to it. I made the decision to just say that in the work itself. Criticism of art belongs in art, actually. It's going!
And finally, my teeny tiny little accomplishment that pales in the face of the others but I will pat myself on the back for anyway is that I finally cracked open that pristine unused fancy journal that was collecting dust on a shelf for... at least a year, and actually wrote words in it. Fear of the blank page, who?
My next accomplishment needs to be calling the optometrist, though... I know what I'm going to hear and I don't want to hear it, essentially. But everything else was fine...
