'he would not fucking say that' maybe he would if he knew he was starring in his very own porn fic for the sole purpose of delighting some freaks on archive of our own dot org. maybe he'd play it up for the cameras. ever consider that
why am i dressed slutty you ask? to read classic literature alone in my room. mind your own business.
if you ever doubt that your ao3 comments matter or mean something: i have been struggling with my writing for 6 months straight, crying myself to sleep afraid that i will never be able to write again, that the thing i love most in the world has left me, that my writing is just gone
this morning i got this comment:
and after i stopped blubbering over it, i picked up my writing notebook, and re-read all my fic research, and opened up my document again for the first time in weeks without being afraid of it
you have no idea how much writers treasure every single comment we get. you have no idea how big an impact you can have. sometimes, just sometimes, your one "insignificant" comment changes everything

Your friend’s unpublished fic idea is kind of a dead wife
i also want to read this guy’s dead wife
74. You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it? 🥸
I've just answered this question! But thanks for asking!
Back for more because I didn’t see this question the first time and I love it. You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it?
Okay, so, off the top of my head... it would probably be an overly indulgent mild-to-moderate angst fic with lots and lots of pining, obviously a happy ending, far too many sentences that run like 4-6 lines long, and perhaps slightly too much description of facial expressions. It would probably spring off an episode or canon event and diverge from there, giving space for more emotions. Oh, and I have clear and obvious mommy issues, a sprinkling of religious trauma, and a penchant for some power dynamics, so there's a lot of Constance and Angela being slightly less awful and a handful of quasi-religious phrasings.
I mean if I actually published an anonymous fic, it'd take one of the things I usually like and draw it to an extreme you might not easily place as mine, but...
Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc?
This is such an easy question to answer when I'm revising a chapter and annoyed at myself for saying whatever thing forty times but really hard to grasp when not actively nose-in-document.
I'm an angst-fiend, so angst is in basically everything I do—a drop or an ocean, it's always there. I really love to rag on the men of Rizzoli and Isles and I especially love a jealous, possessive Jane so there's that: a lot of dragging Maura's men through the proverbial muck to put Jane in that mood. I write a lot in Maura's house, I realize. Jane's apartment barely exists to me.
The more nitty-gritty repetetive phrases and words are escaping me at the minute.
you can follow me for the fandom you enjoy but watch out

PAGET BREWSTER as EMILY PRENTISS CRIMINAL MINDS | 3.19 'Tabula Rasa'
every writer has That One Scene that lives in their head rent-free but they can’t write it yet because “the vibes aren’t ripe”
CRIMINAL MINDS 3.04 'CHILDREN OF THE DARK'
JJ heard from the family, and they're on their way from LA. That's... That's great.
i wanna be so offline but unfortunately i love my mutuals and fanfiction

Hi!
16, 18, and 24 for the Get to Know Your Fic Writer asks. Please and thank you!
💚
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
Ideas are something I'm almost never short on. I have several brewing at a time. I would guess like 5-10. The one I've been poking at recently is an old unformed idea now formed, but essentially it features Maura as a prison psychiatrist who saw Hoyt a few times before his escape, which brings Jane around asking questions about what she knows and it all takes off from there.
18. Do you title your fics before, during, or after the writing process? How do you come up with titles?
I title them as soon as possible! Even some of my ideas and summaries have titles attached (prison psych Maura exists in Variations on a Theme, a title that comes from a line in one of the Tess Gerritsen novels). I feel like titles are part of the brainstorming process for me and part of setting a tone, themes, etc.
I hate coming up with them, though. It's so hard! I use song titles a lot because it's easiest, but when that's not working for me I'm wildly grasping at thenes and motifs and symbols and crossing my fingers. Or stealing lines from a chapter and using it for a chapter/work title.
24. Worst writing advice anyone ever gave you?
The worst writing advice I ever received was essentially suggesting I write something different than what I was already writing. When I write original fiction, I usually write weird whacko experimental things and I took a handful of medium traditional writing workshops in university. I had a few professors really really deeply wish i was writing more conventional work and offering advice that did mothing to help me make my work more of what it was trying to be. Hm, this kind of feels like a non-answer, but it's all I can come up with.
