Jakku-
Western Reaches-
Inner Rim
Jakku is not known for much other than the battle of Jakku, during the Galactic Civil War. This was the battle to end all battles as the craft of the fight still litter the planet. The exports that come off the planet are old but useable ship parts.
The planet once covered in forests is now desert.
The system of Jakku is of the same name and is and inner rim planet on the western reaches. The planet sets near Jehda.
Burke's trailing hyperspace lane intersects with Jakku. It is used by smugglers and the like.
Places of Interest
Tuanul
The sacred village of Tuanul was built on a large rock mesa. The people of this village are known as the church of the force. They are non force users who follow the religion. Lor San Tekka, among others lived here.Â
Cratertown
All we have at the moment is theis drawing, but hopefully in the future we get to see more of this interesting area of Jakku. Going down to Cratertown! Ergelâs Bar can be found here. Only one drink is served, Knockback Nectar! The drink was made from lichen.
Niima Outpost
Named after Niima the Hutt who lived on Jakku. This was considered the only settlement on Jakku.
An almost ariel shot of Niima Outpost kinda on fire because we canât have nice things.
This is the gateway of Niima Outpost. The archway was taken from a Rebel ship.
The concession at Niima Outpost where Rey turns in various items she has scavenged for portions to eat. Unkar Plutt can be seen in the background at the kiosk. Fun fact, Rey refers to Unkar as blobfish.
Kelvin Ridge or the Kelvin Ravine
The ridge seperates Tuanul and basically the rest of Jakku.
Namentheâs Crater is also visable fromt the photo. Backstory: A male scavanger with the name of Namenthe was transporting Proton Bombs and he wasnât very careful.
Plaintive Hand plateau
This location is where Palpatineâs observatory was located. You see if Palpatine was ever killed, he had a contingency plan to destory the Galatic Empire. This wasnât the only observatory, oh no there were quite a few. Various artifacts were held at the Jakku Observatory. He also belived that at the core of Jakku held a life essence. This was around 30 BBY. As the Galatic Civil War waged Gallius Rax, a boy who grew up on Jakku and used to guard the observtory was tasked to admisister the contingency plan but failed to do so when he was stopped by Grand Admiral Rae Sloane, Norra Wexley and Brentin Lore Wexley.
Reyâs Life on Jakku
Rey was left by her parents on Jakku so Emperor Palpatine couldnât find her. Her life was far from easy. Everyone on Jakku wanted to survive and our scavanger soon realized that she must as well so she could see her parents some day. Spurred on by the belief that they would come back for her little Rey makes her way in the world.
Location: Goazon Badlands Reyâs home on Jakku. A fallen AT-AT (Hellhound two) from the Battle of Jakku is seen here. Rey didnât think she would survive in the Goazon Badlands becasue there were no forms of life, that is until she finds a small flower (Spinebarrel) miraculously growing inside the walker and makes it her home. The Goazon Badlands is where Finn and Poe crash the Tie they stole from the First Order in TFA.
Rey on her speeder driving away from wreckage of the many Star Destroyers (Could be the Inflictor) that fell during the Battle of Jakku. Rey actually built the speeder herself. Fun fact, the speeder has a finger print ID on it, that way no one could drive off with her baby.
Meeting BB-8
Here we see Rey rescuing BB from a Teedo.
The Teedo species, who don't go by names are gray/green reptilian creatures. Their language is Teedospeak. They worship the goddess R'iia. They figured the deity was angry and caused the never ending storms which created the famine and drought to the once green planet. They named the winds XâusâRâiia.
A wider shot of the geography of Jakku. It's all dune hill from here folks. Rey is seen here with BB-8 after they first meet. She lets the droid spend the night in th AT-AT with her.
Here is an up close look at the back end of a destroyer (Might be the same one) we see later in the film in The Starship Graveyard. This is one of Rey's favorite places to scavenge from.
Finn, a resistance fighter as he tells Rey, needs to get BB-8 to the Resistance base because he is carrying a partial map to Luke Skywalker. They have to get passed banditos, stormtroopers and maneuver through the fallen ships to escape First Order Tie fighters.
Rey and Finn running through Niima Outpost away from First Order stormtroopers and towards the garbage ship after not being able to aqquire a quadjumper.
Ah, the garbage as Rey refers to it is none other than The Millennium Falcon.
