Maybe it’s a leftover evolutional trait (all livings beings do have them IRL)…or someone at Blizzard just spent *way* too much time on this. XD
First, all living beings having nipples I’m 95% sure is a complete falsehood.
Second, this isn’t a bad possibility, but that’s operating on the assumption that A) all life in the universe is reminiscent of Earth life forms, and B) assuming they evolved OUT the need to eat before the Xel’naga started messing with them. I can’t imagine a race would undergo such an extreme biological change, they would have needed to be created in such a way. If that’s the case, why were the nipples left and the mouth removed? If the Xel’Naga did create the protoss in their current form, why remove the mouth at all? They could have been granted telepathy and the ability to survive without eating the way most complex organisms seem to, without removing the mouth.Â
They’re there because someone went “well they gotta have nipples” but no I don’t think there’s any reason for them to have them. I’m not a speculative biologist though and this is probo a conversation we should have with one.Â
